‘C’ shoulder stamp : Ollie Pope Tempesta
« on: April 26, 2024, 05:32:15 PM »

Hi,

I took advantage of a few discount codes and pressed the trigger to get the Tempesta Ollie Pope Edition. It’s SB/LH setup with a huge 67mm spine. The bat is quality and pings like a rocket. However I was hoping that it would have the  elusive ‘H’ shoulder stamp on it. But instead it has a ‘C’ stamping on it.  Does anyone know what that means? I know ‘B’ means made by GN India, but I was curious what would the ‘C’ denote here. Thanks!

C is this years date stamp.

I think it changes in September...but I'm never sure as that stamp is applied at the point of labelling.

Thank you! Would that still mean, that it was made in Robertsbridge?

M means made in India

Square stamps is Indian

H and uk stamp on bats is Uk made and the c is round where the c on India made is square

All bats made in Australia and India are very very good and the “H” bats I have are simply guns

B is last years bats !!

I could be wrong like but H will know !!!

I have 2/3 H stamped a azam pp another, and a 5 star Tempesta 1.0 which is absolutely mental and why it has a 5 star sticker only H will now

Thanks! The C is not a squared C. And there is no other stamp on the other bat shoulder.

Thank you! Bat’s a gun for sure. And great to know that it came from Robertsbridge. The hunt for the elusive ‘H’ stamp continues 🫡

Last time I heard VKS may have had 1/2 H stamped ones but that was a while ago !!

Thanks! The C is not a squared C. And there is no other stamp on the other bat shoulder.

So....these are almost certainly Indian made to Pope spec for potential use by contracted GN players, they are either surplus to requirement or not quite the spec we wanted for players so we have made them available to purchase.

The round "C" stamp would have been applied at GN Robertsbridge so we can track when they have been made/sold

Well, now it’s confirmed by the man himself 🙂! Thank you
I know we all are fans of your work, and to have one with your stamp on it would have been awesome for my little collection! Curious how do you ensure that the craftsmanship is consistent for a pro bat that you yourself made vs one made by another GN batmaker/factory?

We have a couple of what we would call "stock" pro shapes (1 of which is the OP shape) that GN India will make. These are all checked over at Robertsbridge and if they don't quite reach the standard needed (nornally this is a size/weight issue) we will then put them out for retail.

Appreciate the response Alex! I have to say other than the weight (2lb 11.8oz) it’s hard to point a flaw in the bat. Even with the weight it picks up like a 2lb 9oz/2lb 9.5oz. Absolute canon! Thank you again for helping us with your insights and inputs.

So are all the ones in retailers made in India not Robertsbridge?
