Overall both teams did well on the 1st day
Ponting obviously in sublime form.. reaching 158! Hussey 51 ish, Hodge 53*
301 for 4 off 87 overs... AND Symmmonds is STILLLLL :o to bat !!! fireworks when he comes in? :D
West indies have a new debutant spinner.. JAGGERNAUTH... yes u say it like juggernaut as in truck.. quality name.. see if he lives up to it ;-)

Yup looks a pretty good player! Fidel Edwards bowled pretty well getting a wicket!
-
And good to see ponting getting some runs as he had a pretty horrible time of it aginst india.
-
i was good to see punter smash the bowling around a bit. He would have been over the moon!
-
Australia finished 17/4 at stumps with the top 4 all out and and lead of just 136.
Chanderpaul scored another gutsy hundred with support from Morton and Bravo.
Powell and Edwards finished with 2 wickets apiece bowling quickly and in excellent areas.
Ponting back to his worst with the shot he got out to, edging a half volley to 3rd slip having been squared up, bat aiming through mid-on and head falling well over the ball.
Lots of pressure now on Hodge, Symonds, Haddin and Lee to get the lead to over 300 but I'm confident that they'll manage it.
An excellent day's cricket...

Oooooohhh a little bit of a wobble! Pontings shot was shocking like!! The Aussies have enough batsmen to dig them out, but if the Windies can keep the pressure on it will be interesting.
-
I hope the windies can get the aussies out for a lead of less than 350 and they might just have a chance. If sarwan, chanderpaul and others can get some runs.
-
43/5! Come on Windies! I think they have a really good chance in this test, but when Hayden and Clarke return it may be a bit too much, so this is there chance.
-
Australia bowled out for 167, meaning the Windies need 287 to win in four sessions. I reckon they can do this, provided Chanderpaul gets a start, what do you lot think?
-
I think they can do it but need some others to get some runs instead of reliying on chanderpaul. Also how well did Symonds bat.
-
Punters shot was a shocker. Nobody flukes 158 though.
Go the aussies
-
I think if sarwan gets a score along with the reliable chanderpaul the aussies will win it. Magill's not a threat so that leaves you with three seamers which don't really do anything apart from bowl straight with possibly a bit of reverse swing.
-
looks like i was wrong well played the aussies. And clark just reitariting what mcgrath did you don't need to bowl excess pace to get wickets.
