is there any real difference between the two, i prefer the look of the newer version, but looking online i can get last years for £45, whereas this years are more like £65/70.
-
There doesn't look much difference between the two, probably just slight tweaks. If I were were you I would go and try footwear on and then decide as when you're in the field for a good couple of hours there's nothing worse than uncomfortable shoes.
-
well i bought some spikes last year and hated them, but had a pair of adidas ones before and they were really comfy, i'll probably go and try some on though, thanks
-
anyone got any views on these?
-
2011 Adidas Lite's have 4 heel spikes as opposed to 2. Bowling boots appear to be exactly the same spec. Adidas only seem to change the spec of the shoe every couple of years, changing colour once every year.
-
ahh okay, d'you reckon it's worth the extra £20 for the new ones then?
-
I personally don't feel Adidas spikes represent good value for money generally and wouldn't but them. Since they changed spec from the 'Cobalt' ones a few years back, they feel much less robust. I think in efforts to make them even lighter they started using thinner materials and I have since switched to using a different brand.
To answer your question, I would say that you are paying £20 more for 2 extra heel spikes and a colour update. Depends how much you value both of these add ons.
-
ahh god, don't say that. I'm so bloody indecisive when it comes to things like this. I'd obviously prefer to have the latest version, but then again £20 is a decent chunk of money :/
-
Also depends what you do. I wouldn't feel comfortable bowling seamers in early season conditions with just 2 heel spikes for instance. So in that sense the extra £20 is justified. However if you are just a batter/spinner then I would save yourself the £20.

i'm a keeper, which obviously means i want a good deal of traction

my last pair were asics and they put me off, really uncomfortable, what are your adidas ones like?
-
Don't know yet mate, Morrant are sending them out to me this week so as soon as they get here I will let you know. Sure they will be alright though, enough people wear them
-
thats what i thought tbh, i think i'm just going to get the 2011 ones, i know i'll regret it otherwise
-
Don't do your head in about it mate, this forum can drive you up the wall when making a decision. You have used Adidas before, so you know the quality and comfort.
What a seamer chucking it down at 90 may like, is probably not what a keeper/batsmen would require.
-
ahh i know, i'm still pretty unconvinced either way
-
What is it that you are not convinced over?
-
whether the 2011 version are worth £20 more than the 2010 version
