Title: Shoo Goo
Post by: e4sby on May 23, 2008, 09:45:56 PM
Thought i'd share my views on this product.

I used it for the first time at the beginning of the week and have got to say i'm very impressed with it so far.  Not sure whats the best way to apply it, no doubt i'll find it in the coming months of using it.  I just wet my finger and smoothed over.

Seems to have set rock hard and will find out if it lasts longer than a bloody toe guard and its the fraction of the price.  I should be able to do at least 25 bats with 1 tube.

One last thing, do you think its worth applying a small amount on the face at the toe of the bat?

I have a scuff sheet on, so found it unnecessary, but I did put a little bit on the back of the bat.

I've heard about it, but never actually seen it - where can you get it from?

How's bat production coming along Chris?

I find when you put an antiscuff on right to the bottom of the bat it starts lifting so was hoping this might hold it down better.  I'll find out when i get round to it.

I made the mistake of oiling the bat before i put the antiscuff on and edge tape.  Antiscuff sticks but the tape doesn't, looks like i'm going to have to give the edges a good sand down, guess i'll learn from my mistakes

I got a tube from eBay, cost me £7 or something, just make sure you buy clear!

The bat making has come to a stand still cos of lack of clefts - get my delivery hopefully by Tuesday/Wednesday but i'll believe it when i see it.  Guess i can't complain as companies aren't too keen on letting too much of their stock out.

Its a glue used to mend shoes.  It comes in a tube which you put onto the toe of the bat and spread as smooth as you can.  It can also be applied to the bottom of the face to give that a little protection against water penetration.

It is top stuff and i apply it to all my bats, 100 times better than toe guards.

How does the shoo goo compare with waterproof PVA.... I have been using it on the toe and about 0.5cm from the toe on the face and back of ther bat. It seems to work .....

Is shoo goo more durable?

So has anyone had any bad experiences with this?

I'm thinking of getting some, and just wondered if there was any down side to shoe-goo?

Shoo Goo is really good - just get the application right. When I put it on I put masking tape around the bat to allow the 'Goo' to build up rather then spill down the bat. P.S, it stinks, make sure there's serious ventilation!
