That's a shame - the spiel on the about us page seems to go to a massive effort to make you think they are handmade by the Worgan family

Look for the giveaway sign of the Octopus grips cut into strips to hold the handle in when fitted.

Mike as much as I agree with you on this one as the shapes are very familiar. I'd like to add the grips cut strips are a great and easy way of holding the splice ears in place when gluing in a splice

I could elaborate a touch for the benefit of younger readers but there may also be a few more pointers than just the Octopus grips....

I quite liked the look of the stickers. Like JF said lots of effort goes into making them sound as though they are handmade in a small workshop.

Talking in riddles is common place on here, I'm learning it in bits now :) where's batman to sort this all out!!

The art of Bull****!

It's a bit cheeky when you're not even shaping.

"We pinch ourselves to think that we can be part of someone’s first (or thirty-first) ton; toughest fifty; most memorable shot." I've refurbished my friends bat, does that mean I can take credit for some of his runs?
Title: Re: FAT BATS
Post by: Talisman on April 05, 2011, 08:57:02 AM
To be fair anyone playing a part in helping anyone score runs should take credit, in which case my bowling has helped many many people....

It's downright dishonest from my perspective and a clear attempt to hoodwink people.

Why isn't this a blatant contravention of the trades description act?

Brimble. . .the amount of quality bats you've sold, you owe bowlers an apology.

Their posts got taken off cricket supplies because of spamming. To nearly all new posts was a post along the lines of '' have you tried FatBats'' ''Have you considered FatBats'' Etc

apart from this, i like the look of their bats

The true art of the batmaker is not in what he makes nor what he says, but what he doesn't say ;)

A welsh bat brand that sell on [facebook (reason enough for me to dislike them)] and sometimes ebay.

A lot of these garden shed bat companies ask for a hefty prices for their bats.

I'd imagine they see what other 'small' brands charge and assume they will be able to get the same prices. What they don't realise is the established small brands establish a good reputation and increase their prices accordingly.

It is a shame with this lot, I've spoken to them quite a bit and yes the impression I was given was that they are made in a garden shed from scratch.

Sigh.

Gentleman my objection is that they use facebook as their primary selling tool. As I am not a fan of facebook, it is enough to put me off. :D.
