Title: Best all rounder spikes?
Post by: TommO on April 05, 2011, 08:20:39 PM
Hi guys.

I'm a long term looker on the forum and I've just had no time to post anything, finally got some time off. I was wondering what is the best shoe for an all rounder? Ive got about £50-£70 pounds to spend on a pair of spikes.

I was looking at;

Asics Gel Strike Rate's 2011 - £59.99 + P&P
Nike Zoom Air Century 2010 - £59.99 + P&P

Anyone had any experience with these shoes and anyother recommendations for a all rounder's shoe?

Many Thanks.

I have last years Asics Gel Strike rate, they are the best spikes I have ever had. They are very comfy and the spikes are great! They are athletic pins and have a special key, so you don't have to worry about using those normal bloody spike keys when the holes are filled with mud! If you want to use them on artificial wickets then they can be switched from spikes to blanks in a matter of minutes.

You may be able to pick up last years ones cheap as well

As a wannabe all rounder myself I have found the asics 170no to be great spikes for both batting and bowling

Id have to agree with Leo, asics have to be the best all round option. I had a pair of Nike air Zoom Opener spikes last year and i didnt get on that well with them, i thought they were uncomfortable and didnt get better with use.
