Title: Can you use bowling shoes when batting?
Post by: Fetchthatone on April 05, 2011, 09:09:29 PM
Hi there,

I'm interested in getting the Nike Flywire Pace II, and I was wondering how these would be for batting?

Many thanks

You can use them, but you may come in for a bit of sledging!

I have never had sledging for my footwear and when I was a fast bowler I wore my bowling boots to bat in

At most levels nobody gives a toss what boots you are wearing. I've always batted and bowled in the same shoes and in twenty years nobody has said anything.

Never used to be any difference now its just some boots are lighter that dont give the support bowlers need, other boots give support but not as light upto the user.  Just materials & design developed.

Maybe he was referring to the garish design of the boot!
