Ok guys whats your opinions...
Oil or Extratec, facing, scuff sheet or what ever you like to call it
I prefer oiling...just my preference..have tried both and for some reason just dont like facing..old school i guess
-
Face it!
Your bat is protected when you spend so much on a bat you want it to be safe in every way
-
It all personal preference it certainly adds to your bats life no doubt.
I do not oil my bats ever not something i like doing but i know some who think it sacrilidge mate puting a plastic sheet on them
Hate edge tape my new bats both have edge tape that will be coming off
-
I bought a GM Purist 11 LE last year with facing and the first game out I got an outside edge and the facing ripped down the edge so I took it back to get it replaced and when they took the old sheet off pieces of willow tore off with it...I was pissed off big time and they just said oh its ok it wont effect performance....When I pay A$700 for bat I dont wont pieces of the face torn off it
-
Use to leave the bat unfaced and oiled, don't now. Bats are to expensive and to many concrete balls around to leave unprotected. Lads from Kippax told me to face and then oil the toe. Nothing else required as the face keeps the moisture in the bat and linseed oil does a better job than a toe guard (and lighter!).

Sounds like that ultra thin Readers rubbish, proper helicopter stuff will do a better job.
-
It was actually quite thick...It was GM stuff...what ever that is that they use
-
helicopter real stuff is hard to find most say there selling it and there not...
only 2 places i have seen sell the real stuff is Serious and Romida
Why do people not just glue there toe....
Trust me bud real chopper stuff does to tear
-
Can you do both...I just got a new bat and have oiled it once on the face and once on the back..My plan was to oil it once more on the back and twice more on the front then apply a plastic sheet...do you guys recon that would OK to do? or is it two much?
-
how can you tell if its the helicopter stuff on or not?
-
I do both, oil the bat, knock it in, get it ready to be abused all season............then put a cover on it. :D
-
I make sure to oil and then put a clear sheet on. Got the sheet from Romida so I'm hoping that's the helicopter stuff then!
