We have a young keeper at our club who has been told by our coach that his youths gloves are too small, however the new mens gloves he has bought are a little on the large side for his fingers, what can he do or put in the end of the fingers to stiffen them up where his hand is too short
i was thinking like the fingers savers haddin has on the other topic but dont know where to buy them, i am sure someone will know of a good idea/resolution to the problem though...
thanks

Go old school mate, pack the ends with cotton wool. Simplest and cheapest way :) or get some flex foam and cut it down for the finger ends
-
does the cotton wool not all come out and get messy? or the foam not come out? just dont wanna tell hi mthen it goes horribly wrong in his new gloves haha!
-
If he wets it it won't. Same principle for football boots mate. Wet it and jam in the ends. Worked in my old batting gloves when they felt too big at the thumbs. If all else fails he could always wear two thin pairs of inners
Or.... I'm pretty sure you can buy little foam inserts for WK gloves. Like the little ones in the ends of fingers. Or at least you could do, they had some in Warrior a while back. About £8 I think

cool cool top man, thank you!

No probs

M&H sell the finger protection things that Haddin wears.

Without seeing the kid and the fit;
If the Mens gloves are too big, then, maybe the Youths gloves are not too small.
The coach could be wrong? It does happen.
But I agree above, there could be some way to pack out larger gloves but would not recommend endless "inners" to get the result. Do not loose the "feel".
However my gut tells me if the Mens gloves are too big then Youths should be OK, for now.
What does the kid feel more comfortable with?
-
not sure havent asked him which he likes best, probably youths as nobody likes something too big, i wouldnt disagree with the coach but i am inclined to think he knows what he is talking about being an ex first class keeper, he probably has a solution but i thought i'd come on here as we wont see him for a couple of weeks now!

So yeah I guess I would trust the advice of a first class keeper too.
And I just looked at M&H

These are interesting, but £8 postage to Aus. Can't help ya.
Their keeping gloves do look sweet thou. Look soft. Wish we could get that range of kit here.
Here its like Kooks, Kooks, Puma, and more Kooks.

yeah may show him those mandh ones, do you think you get 2 as pictured or 1 in a pack?
-
Well its definately 2/pack. But seem to be for protection while batting, but could be OK for keeping.
When I see the Haddin style finger protection, my assumption is his gloves don't have the "hard" rubber finger caps in them, padded out with foam. Rather he fits "custom" finger caps over his inners and then hand in glove.
Result is rather than one size fits all hard rubber/foam finger caps like we use of the shelf, he has custom silicon or like caps in his gloves. Made to fit. Sounds better than standard.
I have been thinking how to mould such a finger cap at home??
-
yeah but if it just to add a little volume it may work, unless they are too wide!
I may just purchase them and see what he thinks, if he doesnt like them i'll give them away on here to a wk!
