Anybody going up tomorrow? I'm thinking of popping in for a couple of hours in the morning or afternoon... providing the weather stays like this!
-
If the weather is like this then i will. Will doubled it up with a trip to SCS
-
Are K9s welcome at the club?
-
Sounds good Liam, and I'm not too sure to be honest Harry... should be alright if you keep it on a lead :)
-
I'd definitely keep her on a lead as she likes chasing then chewing cricket balls.
-
Haha, so does my mutt! I'll look out for you guys tomorrow, I'll be turning up in a white saxo (which resembles a fridge more than anything else!), and will more than probably be wearing shorts and flip-flops :)
-
I'll probably be there tomorrow as well - my car will be the sexy little maroon citreon xantia estate - it sounds like a tractor and drives like one too!
-
If i'm there then it'll be a blue corsa and i will probably be wearing some dodgy yellow (chris gayle like) sunglasses!
-
If I'm coming I'll be in the very sexy Subaru Impreza WRX Estate ; ] ....Assuming it's ready to be picked up from the garage this evening or early tomozza morning.
I'll also be donning matt black sunglasses and have a mad Staffordshire bull terrier called Myrtle with me.
-
This is the team for tomorrow
The Somerset line up will be selected from the following squad of 12: "Marcus Trescothick, Arul Suppiah, Nick Compton, James Hildreth, Craig Kieswetter, Jos Buttler, Pete Trego, Lewis Gregory, Gemaal Hussain, Max Waller, Charl Willoughby and Adam Dibble.

I shall be there at about 1.30.... Slightly hungover I reckon :(
-
Judging by a 4.30am post I think he speaks the truth.....
-
Have yet to receive the phone call that my car is ready so attendance, at this moment is looking doubtful. : [
-
This sounds like the place to be today.....

But you don't have a phone......

But you don't have a phone......
What you on about Brimble? Of course I have a phone, in fact 2 of them. A landline and a mobile. I might live in the Shires but even here technology eventually shows it's face!
-
I shall be there, leaving in 40 minutes or so. Will probably go to SCS in the lunch break.
-
One of my mates is playing for Cardiff Uni, did ok against Glamorgan with 7 wickets in the 2 innings, if anyone is able to abuse (in a friendly manner!) him.... he is John Denning! Let me know how it goes, on the way to work now unfort!! :(
-
I have just arrived, sat to the right of the pavilion as you look at it. By the bowling machine and stuff, in a green chair
-
It's lunch at the cricket. I'm now at SCS. Somerset are on 170 odd for 1 with trescothicks not out in the 70's
Ian, I think you just drive past me on your way into the ground. I was in blue corsaetting you all come in. You in a White sAxo?
-
This is the place to be, sat on a bank next to the sightscreen in the sun, waiting to see tresco bring up his ton in 5 runs time!
-
If I could drive.........
-
Liam, I wondered if that was you in the corsa! I'll come over in a few mins, currently chilling to the max!
-
I left when somerset were on around 300 with Kieswetter and Trego at the crease, Kieswetter then goes on to get a ton! Ha
I had a chat with Trescothick too after his hundred. I will put up some pictures in a new thread
-
I was there for a couple of hours this morning - ball was swinging a fair bit early on and i thought Suppiah was looking the more composed of the openers.......but he got a ball that lifted a bit. Lightning fast outfield with a small boundary meant runs came pretty quickly though. The UCCE bowling attack wasnt up to much mind you - a few bowlers pushing the high 70's and a decent medium paced swing bowler - the spinners didnt get any real turn from what i saw.
It was nice to see Butler, Thomas and Trego walking around the boundary having a chat with the spectators - can't think of many other sports that have that kind of relaxed interaction!
-
I've put my pictures up in another topic

Was a good days cricket I thought, as nice to bump into Dom and Liam briefly earlier on. The ground was looking really decent I thought, I still can't believe that the team who play there were in our division just two years ago, and our ground is a heap!
You're right about the bowling Dom, nothing special really... All batsmen looked comfortable apart from Butler who looked very dodgy, Compton who was unlucky and got a grubber, and Hildreth who pretty much just missed the straight one!
Spoke to Steve Kirby on the boundary briefly after Kieswetter slipped over during his innings, Kirby was doing fitness on the adjacent pitch and didn't see what happened to Kieswetter and asked me what happened... I replied "He fell over and needs to get up I reckon!", Kirby replies, "I agree mate, he's a right soft f**ker!" Turns out Kieswetter had cramp I think....!
Steve Kirby looked like the exact opposite of a 'Soft F**ker' mind you!
