Have just been informed that trainers can now be spiked by The Shoe Doctor in Taunton - apparantly a lot of the county boys have been getting it done in there with the prices being pretty reasonable.....circa £20 i've been told, but dont take my word for that!

Probably more useful for those living in the local vicinity - but useful to know of another person doing the spiking!

Good find, stumble across them or having your heels repaired?
-
Any idea who they cater for? Has anyone had any experience of these even?
-
He might have stumbled across them because his heels needed to be repaired!
sorry, that was awful!
wasnt that the joke talisman made, but he phrased it a bit better

You're right, I misinterpreted mikes!

nevermind, we all have off days

Havn't been in myself but was told by a team mate who is pretty reliable. I might pop in this week and get a definitive price for the service.
-
A guy at our club got his done there years ago (3-4 years), from what I remember it was quite expensive but I'm not overly sure.....

Just collected my trainers from the shoe doctor, I paid £30 for full spiking, steve has only just started this service following some work for the Somerset lads.

Hi
I am the Shoe Doctor in Taunton. I have beena cobbler for 23 years and just recently started doing cricket spikes. I opened a new shop in Taunton very close to the county ground and started getting enquiries about the service from the Somerset guys. I saw what was done previously and thought i could do an as good if not better job. I have done quite a few pairs since and had no complaints so far. I am sponsoring Marcus Trescothick this season and done some work for him including spiking and he seemed very pleased. I am more than happy to offer a mail order service. Prices are from £25-£30 depending on the trainer +p&p. If anyone is interested feel free to email me & i'll be more than happy to send you a before & after pic of a recent pair i've done.

What trainers did u have done mate?
-
Hi Steve, you didn't used to work in the shop in Minehead did you?
-
Sorry to bring up an old topic but what shoes does Marcus Trescothick have spiked up?
-
Asics Gel 100 cross trainers
-
Cheers always wondered what they where, look quite chunky for batting in assuming they must be pretty light!
-
I have a pair of Asics them they aren't that light but really comfortable and great for batting in - even without getting them spiked up.
