I know it won't affect the bats performance but will these cracks damage the bat in foreseeable future?
Are these normal for bats when knocking them in ?
Both of these bats haven't even faced a single ball and I am not the best knocker of the bat with mallet.

They will both be fine. My guess is that they both could be a bit dry causing the cracking.

I would not worry ever about horizontal cracks vertical is a bit different but they look fine to me maybe dry wood

The first one is Puma Iridium 6000 and I got that off Yash so he oiled and did everything, I don't think that happened with knocking because I didn't knock it lately and this appeared today.
I think that happened when I was earlier testing my bat by keeping the mallet like this;

So the mallet might have struck from an angle that might have damaged it.
Second is Oblivion LE, I did oil it (back and face with facepad) so there should be enough moisture however it still appears to be a bit dry but I will be applying a scuff sheet so I don't think I need to oil it, right ?

i never oil any of my bats ever mate so not best to ask i just whack a sheet on and go

Haha...okay I'll be applying a face sheet.
I ordered the GN one so once I get that off a mate then I'll be applying that because I don't want to apply Hammer Edge which I have home :)
