Just a quick one what the best innings you have seen live
Dave Hussey 100 in 61 balls for Victoria V NSW at Scg was special best i have seen live.
-
ooh flintoff smashing a ton at Lords against the Saffers in a loosing cause (remember the broken woodworm bat photo - that innings - Glorious sunshine at lords, everyone SMASHED and Freddie causing a riot)
Moody and Hick demolishing Warickshire in a B&H cup final both were 90odd not out at the end
Michael Vaughan 150 at Sydney against the Aussies at their Peak
Steve Waughs career saving ton in the same game
I am sure there are more...
-
If I remember correctly in 1996 I saw Sanath Jayasuria smashing the fastest 100 (at the time) off 57 balls at the Singapore Cricket Club. Hot day on a small ground and Sanath just went mad!
-
Ponting's innings at Old trafford to save the test was special..
-
Hick scoring about 100 off 60 odd balls at Kidderminster in a pro40 I think it was. Also Vaughan scoring a century against WI at Headingley.
-
Bell+Trott both getting tons against Notts at Trent Bridge. Or Ponting's ton against Eng at TB again in 2009.

that's the one, cracking game
-
Somerset hitting 250-3 against Gloucestershire in the twenty20 cup. Sunny evenin in Taunton and Cameron White hit 116* of not many balls and Justin Langer hit 90 odd inhis first ever twenty20 match.
I witnessed a Marcus Trescothick 120 on Saturday.
-
This topic makes me feel bad, ive only seen about 3 live games :(

what a game i bet klusners innings was not bad as well
-
yeah, was a close one! at Kidderminster the boundaries are a bit shorter, but still you need to go at a fair rate to do that.
-
saw KPs switch hit live. think it was off murali. may have gone on to score a ton too. memory is a bit hazy. also saw ian blackwells hundred against sussex last game of the pro40 season at hove a few years ago. 111 i think off not many balls. cleared the clock tower with a six. somerset then dismissed them pretty quickly
-
I havent been to many first class or international games, so I would have to say Mike Hussey's 195 in last year's first ashes test at the Gabba. I went day 2 and 3 and wasnt going to go after day 2, but I thought I would kick myself if he got 200 and I didnt see it. He ended up getting 195, but still a great knock.
-
Saw Allan Border bring up his 200 against England at Headingley in 1993.
Saw all of Strauss' ton against Australia at Old Trafford in 2005.
-
Butchers 170* or whatever it was in 2001 Ashes.
Also, seen a few good 2020 innings from Lumb/ Harvey etc at Headingley
-
I think it's quite a hard task to define any type of "best" innings, but the one that sticks in my mind was Rory Hamilton-Brown's for surrey against Glamorgan in a rain-affected Pro40 game last year.
115 off 69
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport/hi/english/static/cricket/statistics/scorecards/2010/08/85604/html/scorecard.stm
Ramps and Davies did'nt do too badly either.

No professional innings of note, but Steve's 73 was something special. We also won this game needing 6 off the last ball :)
Saying that Gareth's innings here was pretty good http://bradleystokecc.play-cricket.com/scoreboard/scorecard.asp?id=11074983 He was just under a run-a-ball for his 50 then decided to go for it :L
-
Alex Hales's 200 + last year at Derby was one of the best I've seen chanceless knock. Class player and an absolute lad definetely one for the future.
-
1) Cook and Trott in the 4th ashes test in melbourne- mostly because of the circumstance and ease to crash the aussies to all parts in their own backyard
2) Darren Lehman at Scarborough a few years back. Can't remember who it was against but he destroyed it
-

He went to my school. Really happy with how he's done up at notts :)
-
Graham napier when he teed off big time
-
Freddie's ton against the Windies at Edge - it was the one when his dad dropped him in the crowd.
-
Ijaz Ahmed and Saeed Anwar scoring tons against the Kiwis on day 1 of a test match.
-
This one from last summer was pretty special
http://oldhabs.hitscricket.com/scorecard/fixtureID_127724/1st-XI-v-Bushey-CC-12-Jun-2010.aspx
Akash started the final over of our innings on 182, took a single to long on, got back on strike next ball, hit 2 of the next 3 balls for 6 to get 195, then perished going for his double ton off the last ball. On a day when noone else got more than 54, and no teammate made more than 26, it was very very special.
-
Tendulkar's 170 odd against Worcester about a decade ago. He came into the match under pressure with no form and spent the first 2 hours defending. Not a shot in anger. Just playing himself in. A perfect study in concentration. By the end of the day he was playing as well as I'd ever seen anyone play. Seen nothing like it before or since.

^^^^^^ By a country mile ;)
-

That must have been pretty special seeing the master bat all day.

prior century vs glamorgan in last yrs 2020

Hang on he got 195 and then almost got a 5 wicket haul? Did you remind him to buy a lottery ticket after the game :p

Not entirely unusual for him. He scored over 1000 runs both of the last 2 season, and took 30-odd wickets in each with his offies. Quality player, with 3 first class centuries to his name. We will miss him for the first half of the 2011 season as he is doing exams back home.

That was an awesome game, Probably the best game I have seen live.
Saw trescothic hit a hundred of 50 odd balls up at clevedon in a friendly couple of seasons ago. Was effortless and classy
-
It was a great game, the highlights are still on YouTube
Also saw one of James hildreths many championship hundreds last year
-
Maybe our club when we scored 401 in a 50 over game, that was quite a sight
-

We once had 425 scored against us in 50 overs. Still haunts me to this day.
-
Something like this that happened to a team in our league and they were 32-1 after 10 overs then this happened
http://tandscc.play-cricket.com/scoreboard/scorecard.asp?id=10682897
-
he looks a decent player :o
that is a top innings indeed
-
393-9 in 45 overs - us v Wighill CC last year.
http://www.pitchero.com/clubs/headingleycricketclub/s/results-reports-12702.html&official=0&fixture_id=219610&archive_id=1693
It's actually 397, as the guy who scored 116 was miscounted and scored 120. We scored 250 in the last 20 overs.
-
He was one of there pro's and can hit a long long ball thing is yes it has short boundaries but is a nightmare of a wicket 14/20 innings last year were around 100 because of the pitch so know one knows what happened that day but 31-1 off 10 then getting 370 odd of the next 34 overs is some going
Plus they declared !!!!!!
-
http://minehead.play-cricket.com/scoreboard/scorecard.asp?id=10652603
428-5
-

Best innings I have ever seen was this: http://mulbarton.play-cricket.com/scoreboard/scorecard.asp?id=11019144
We had put on a decent score of 222 from 40 overs including me coming in at 10 to score a massive innings of 5 before being run out last ball :p
We started well getting 2 wickets very quickly but then a big partnership took us from a likely victory to staring defeat in the face. Although neither of them stayed in to see the victory through their partnership was very impressive especially as it was very VERY hot (I batted for an over and thought I was going to die from overheating...)

Real names from what I know, I believe their team was based up of members of a mosque so that might have something to do with the very multicultural variety of names.

Saw both of Brian Lara's centuries that he scored on his home ground in test cricket. 1 v Australia in 2003, 1 v South Africa in 2005
Ricky Ponting scoring a double and Darren Lehman 150+, Adam Gilchrist 100+*, Matt Hayden 100+ in 2003 V West Indies
Quite a few ODI centuries but can't remember them...
-
this is by far and away the best innings i have seen but Miller
every 6 went miles ! hit 2 cars !
twycross.play-cricket.com/scoreboard/scorecard.asp?id=10979102
other than that not seen much in the eay of great batting but do remember flintoff bowling to kallis at edgbaston !
-
Brian Charles Lara Sydney double hundred back in 1993 i think however i also seen him score a century at the port of spain which was very very special.
-
sydney what a special place
they ruined the SCG when they scrapped the bank
-

I think the only innings' that could top seeing Lara's double in Sydney or 2 centuries on his home ground in Trinidad would have to be seeing either of the 375, 400*, or 501*.
-
I think this was Lara's greatest knock...
http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/match/63839.html
I watched this on the TV - it was astonishing
-
Sir Viv Richards' 189 against England, in the 1984 Texaaco Trophy.
scorecard here:
http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/current/match/64976.html
His innings was amazing, against everyone else, England bowled well, Richards made them look very, very ordinary. The other amazing fact was that the ninth wicket went down at 166, so he and Holding put on over 100 in an unbroken stand.
-
Forgot about that 153* in barbados...
He's really had some brilliant knocks over the years and had a good few left in him when he retired.
-
Gilchrist missing out on the fastest test hundred ever by one ball at the WACA.
-
cant believe that this was back in 2008!
http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/match/320041.html
Chanderpaul's timing of the ball on this day was incredible, i remember a particular shot he gave a whip of the wrists and it sailed miles back over mid wicket. not a famous or iconic innings, but for a real cricket fan a special one to watch in the rain with his team falling around him.
-
Haven't been to many games, so I'll have to go with Chris Gayle flaying Australia at the World Twenty20 in 2009.
-
Chris Gayle is a great shout in that T20, some mighty blows that day.....!
-
Gayle's 90 odd vs India in the 2010 t20wc was a gem
-
Gordon Greenidge hitting 170 something in a 40 over game at the old county ground in Southampton against Surrey. He smashed two windows in the flats at mid wicket, lost two balls over one of the straight boundaries and hit one over the pavillion, over the road outside and onto the bowling green opposite the ground...
Just utter destruction and confirmed my love of cricket.
Athertons matchsaving 170 odd against the Saffers a few years back with that awesome spell from Allan Donald was pretty special too. Not as exciting but very, very brave....
-
one of my favourite batters mate there when with Desmond in full flow
-
Probably both Trotts and Broads tons at lords, when amir tore through England within the first hour of play! This is also the test where all the spot fixing occurred.
-
one of my favourite batters mate there when with Desmond in full flow
I like to try and mention the Greenidge and Haynes partnership at regular intervals to the younger members of my side in case they think that Jayasuriya invented tee'ing off as an opening batsman. These two boys did it 10 years before and were better at it...and Jayasuriya is a great player.
-
K.P Pietersen 95* off 65 balls
3rd ODI Bristol 2005 Natwest series
Was simply amazing the way he took the Aussi bowlers apart, especially Gillespie who wasn't the same again and arguably set the ball rolling for what was one of the finest English summers in a lifetime
