Well I'm the kind of guy who likes to try as many brands as possible and so far ive not tried CA or Ihsan, ive tried many many many other brands but never either of these two. Obviously i have seen other players bats etc and they looked quality so ive decided its time to give them a try so I'm looking at the CA Plus 1200 TRD and the Ihsan Lynx x1 as I'm told they are the best examples of the top end quality they can offer. I'm also going to try some softs however i wanted some thoughts and opinions of the bats both good and bad.

My current bat (thought not for much longer) is a CA white gold I bought from AJ Sports about 4 years ago for about 80 notes.
WEnt well right from the start, handle snapped just above the shoulders after a while but still went well after a rehandle. Started dying last season and is now more glue than wood but definately been a good bat, especially at that price.

I have a lot of time for CA, only had one Ihsan and it was very poor but middle of the range. Softs have been poor for both brands, must be why Boom Boom have all their kit made in India, no one seems to do any decent one in Pakistan.

Have you tried the Inferno 950 gloves Mike as they look quality although not tried them yet

Agree with that all the overseas pro ca sponsored i have seen have Sg pads with CA stickers over.
They all have said there too heavy???

They were made by Ihsan last year and this year they are made by SS...talking about softs..

No they aren't, I know who makes them and it's not SS, they are making the bats only.

Both are very good bats. I have seen lots of TRD LE at my club and let me tell you, the best Asian bat you can buy right now (in my opinion) is TRD LE. The profile is huge and cleft is low density whereas sweetspot is very long and very nice one! I have CA 12000 Plus and I got it in October 2009 and the feel of it is very good and when I hold TRD I am blown away! The feel, balance and pickup of TRD is impeccable seriously!
I haven't held any Ihsan Lynx but a teammate had Inferno 950 and it was very good I must say, very good indeed!
Let me know if you have any question(s) regarding them especially TRD, I know about it as I have seen lots of them here.

No they aren't, I know who makes them and it's not SS, they are making the bats only.
Could be I was told SS but I would take your words.
However, Boom Boom still deals with Ihsan as they made Boom Boom jerseys

I have those gloves and I have used them and they are very good gloves. They are light, offer good protection and since they are split you can get used to them very easily. Palm is Indian pittard which is alright ofcourse not as good as genuine pittard but gloves are good if you like split fingers and if you have a bit long fingers then they are very good because they are I would say UK mens size.
I also have used CA softs and they are good but the strap is not very good I mean after sometime the strap doesn't stick well but Ihsan ones is good.

My info is the same as Mike. SS for bats and another Indian company for softs (not as well known).

No, CA is a very good bat maker, just the problem of so many fakes in the UK and a terrible agency in Sports HQ, although new agency could get them out onto the high street.

CA and AM bat makers are the best in Pakistan.

Well I'm hoping i don't end up with fakes although if i do then i will get a refund fairly quickly but id say i will be ok ? famous last words

Richy, I know you value my opinion (now I am a proper batsman) -
CA - had a top end and a mid range, both very good and would consider another one.
Ihsan - nice shapes and blades, crap handles - many break. Would suspect their blads would be very good with a decent English fitted handle.
Have seen a few very good CA8000 and 5000, which can be very good bats on a budget.

Brucie your opinions are always welcome as is your money should you want any more boots lol, I'm split between opinions regarding Ihsan as the ones ive seen up close and used have been very good indeed but some people don't rate them and mention the handles a lot which i was wondering if that was just one of those comments people associate with a brand as they read it somewhere if you get what i mean.
Decided to try both out myself so i have them on there way and will see what they are like, have to say though ive seen some lovely CA bats around although not many players use them so i may do well with them.

I had a ca plus 10000 was very good before the handle went on it. The handles on Asian bats need to improve.

Used both top and mid ranged bats. Performance is almost identical, ihsan is cheaper. Handles are the weak link. In fact all pakistani made bats i have used which include mb, as, mids, ihsan and ca the handles went.

One of my friends has been through a couple of ca 10000 s which have cracked down the length of the face and then split spectacularly in the last season.

Without going into family problems Ihsan had, . they have improved their bats quality in recent years and regarded as one of the Top brands with CA in pakistan. I know a lot of Pakistani players get their bats made by CA and Ihsan as well as AM. Some use SS as well.
Have sold many CA and only 1-2 came back where there was a problem with the handle.
Got latest Ihsan bats and see How they go.
Latests Boom Boom Softs are no good as well compared to what I can buy from SS at the same price

Contact CA Factory directly in Pakistan that is the best and safest route because there are loads of fake floating in Pakistani market (assuming).
Have seen people getting beauties from CA's factory..

I'll rate the CA bats when I've had a chance to look at them and have a hit with one, the ones I see are very good but also pricey, they have a similar trade price to the big brands here so if you are getting a CA cheap it may be faked. I've gone down the blank route as the bats will be of the very highest quality but the price is a lot less.
I had 10 AS bats last year, they were a pleasant surprise, they were big and ping'd like mad, not pretty or well finished but value for money.

Definitely their quality has gone down with time. One of the brother who used to look after the bat making at AS has started his own business. Also they have a new bat maker. You can get good bats from them if you can go and hand pick them.
