Title: Talisman Ltd - Review
Post by: justnotcricket86 on April 14, 2011, 10:56:55 AM
Just wanted to say a big thank you to Mike for getting me the gear I have just taken delivery of.

Say what you want about him, but the man delivers and I for one am very grateful. He will be the first to admit he can be crap at emailing, but am over the moon at the Masuri lid, SS keeping gloves and couple of other bits. Prices were better than most places and his over-excitement with the fragile tape certainly brightened up my morning.

Nice one Brimble

Some of the Talisman bats I have are just too good. And then he just tempts me into buying other gems which costs me more money! Plus it puts me in danger every time the wife takes another bat shaped package from the postman!
So yes - he always delivers and gets some amazing bats and is a decent bloke! But your bank manager and wife will hate him!!!

Mike - the lid you have sent me, are they the 2011 ones? I don't see any difference from last years to be honest, still very light and well put together. I know some people were saying last years ones were a lot better

It's only the ti grill that's changed for the worse I think.

Really? Well the one I seem to have doesn't look overly big. We are talking in mm I imagine? Must say I am pretty happy with it, my first Masuri anyway

If I don't get on with it I will just swap my mates when he's not looking ;) Does seem odd why you would add more 'girth' shall we say

Because we have these crazy things called away games mate ;) Plus we are only using the road until the square is fit for use, basically only this season. Plus do a lot of keeping up and useful thing to have in your locker

Hinstock away which is apparently a roll it up and take it home with you sort of pitch. Where are you first game?

Post by: roco on April 14, 2011, 01:59:12 PM
From what I have been told of hinstock the boundary is the 30 yard circle as well

We have cound away not the easiest 1st game as they have the quickest bowler in league( who doesn't like me ) plus a couple of decent bowlers plus are gobby sh*ts

Post by: justnotcricket86 on April 14, 2011, 02:02:57 PM
haha yeah I have heard the Hinstock pitch is small, although have a couple of bowlers who hit the deck. what's the name of that bowler?

It's not our fault!

We have just moved to a new ground. The club was a pub team a few years back so have come on a fair way since then. Astro has/is being laid and we will play on that for the first season whilst the square has a chance to sort itself out, then come next year we will be on grass etc. You have to put up with stuff like this when the club is young, I am sure we have all been there at some point

I can vouch for the quality of those gloves. They are softer than Pumas, yet considerably cheaper.

Reds - if you are reading this mate, it's money well spent.
