i bought myself a new puma iridum 5000 bat yesterday loved the pick up its rather amazing never used a puma before so hope its good,
i gave it a bit of a malleting last night for a few minutes the middle absolutely pings asif its all ready been knocked in?
should i still knock it in myself even though it pings like crazy
and any good tips for the toe?

Do the edges and toe as u shud naturally be using the middle anyway!
In hindsight u shud have got a 3000 as they are tge best bat ever made by anyone ever ;)

why a 3000? i thought the wood was lower grade?

I would imagine as Rob pack makes them, if it's says it's knocked in, it would be. My blueroom from him came knocked in, match ready.

I think most people knocking in is (No Swearing Please).

I have only ever had one bat that has been fully knocked in from the manufacturer and that was a Laver, they are ready to use from day one. Everyone else needs time to play in, but with a knocked in Laver they are playing fully straight away.

I believe that Rob Pack makes Pumas for the pro players only? I could be wrong but I doubt he would have time to make thousands of all grades of Pumas! And then his Bluerooms on top of that!

He makes all the 5000 and 6000 models pete for the uk anyway as saw them on my visit plus all the notes as to what goes with each model in terms of those little leaflets

sorry it was an attempt at humour earlier off the back of a thread put up the other day stating that the Puma 3000 was the most responsive bat ever felt!!

Read the instruction card that comes with the bat. ........
Knocked-in is not = match ready
I have seen only M&H using the words "match ready". All other brands mention "knocked-in" or "factory pre-prepared" etc. etc. but these necessarily do not mean the bats are match ready and hence will need playing-in or 30-40 mins of extra knocking (concentrating more on the edges and toe.

should have known better....i hang my head in shame! Banners look great mate one's up at our club and will see fi they will put one up at Bath or Bristol! :)
