Cardio essential for losing fat 30 minutes + in order for the body to revert to using fat as fuel for excercise, and obviously with cardio over time you'll gain endurance from cardiac hypertrophy amongst other things. Combine that with a decent weight training programme preferably low weight high sets x reps in order to improve muscular endurance as that is your goal. Weight training will also help you lose weight as unlike with cardio you continue to burn calories hours after you've stopped training where as with cardio you only burn calories whilst you're doing the excercise. But as I tell everyone I train you'll only get results with a good diet, diet makes up 90% of all training results once you nail your diet out the rest is easy.
