Title: The Goodwin GT bat I sold
Post by: jonpinson on April 24, 2011, 08:19:15 PM
It has been brought to my attention that an aspect of the bat has been brought into question in Max's sale thread of yesterday. Perhaps I should take a moment to clear things up for those conspiracy theorists who took it upon themselves to suggest that something was not quite right about it.

I bought the bat from Mike with the intention of using it, then as explained at the time, I sold it because the amount of cricket I would have time for did not justify having such a large amount of gear.

Max bought it with the intention of using it and chose to sell it because it was too heavy for him.

We agreed that the bat was as good as descibed, with no flaws or issue that hadn't been made public. Indeed one of the better bats that either of us had had the pleasure of owning. The reasons for sale in both cases were made clear at the time but despite this aspersions were cast.

To whoever has bought the bat, have no fear, there are no issues. Just a person with a bit too much spare time who tried and failed to make the sale more difficult.

Cheers.

Cheers Jon!
Like I tried to say in my sale thread, it is an awesome piece of willow, but it won't help my game! :)

Just imagine how good it would have been with Laver stickers though!

Then why make the comment in the first place? I think it was pretty obvious to everyone who knows how this place works why you chose to post in that particular way in that particular thread. The only possible outcome from such a comment is that buyers may have been put off.

The damage was explained and declared in my sales thread and again by Max. I think you are looking for trouble that doesn't exist Dave, more specifically you are only looking for it in this instance. Any other seller, any other day you would not have bothered.
