They playing so (No Swearing Please) good! They ping throughout the blade and whatever is said about them is less!!!
What are these bats made out of?! Who makes them ?! Great ping from day 1 how is that even possible!?!?!
-
Only the best performing willow goes into these bats. Apparently Charlie is very selective.

grade 1++++++++++++++++ willow

Hi CD
I think that Charlie would prefer to keep certain aspects of his brand secret really, so limited as to what to tell you.
He is very selective and as I understand black cat have their own willow trees to select from. So this could help explain how he gets such quality willow!
As for who makes them, this is something between himself and the podshaver.
Needless to say that if the black cats are awesome bats, which I have always stood by, then just enjoy using them! :)
-
Pete, it was more for scarcity remarks, I really don't need to know it but wanted to praise his bats because they perform amazing! They are bloody amazing! :)
-
Put up the pics brother.
-
Ssh bat is stored at friends house due to mom and brothers fear!!! :(

What weight
-
I think Yash said around 2.10 ish including grip, counter balance etc etc but feels like 2.8 in my hands
-
Oh ok. They are excellent quality.
And I for one would never have known the brand without the forum!!
-
Same here, if this forum was not here I would never have bought the bat.
Those who wants performance of a bat right away then Black Cat is the best stop. This Shadow is great bat for front and back foot!
Believe me or not this Black Cat is easily the best bat I have in terms of performance and beats Puma's, GM's, Laver's, M&H, Salix, Newbery, MB's, CA etc etc all of the bats I have. This has best "ping'' out of all!
-
wouldn't mind trying/buying one, though I doubt I could afford a new one!
-
Got to admit when I got my Joker and had a play with it, it absolutely flies off it.
Would like to try a normal blade to see how they play.

What grade is the bat?
-
The Shadows are grade 1. If you want to be strict about it, if bats have any heartwood in it, then they can only be grade 2 I believe!
But if my bat is grade 2 based on cosmetics because of the heartwood, then I for one don't care. If you base my shadow on performance the. Grade 1+++ and then some!
As far as I'm aware black cat only do grade 1 with shadow and voodoo. Although they do a lower grade joker!

Spot on Pete.
As we all know grading is only an opinion, JS Wrights' system of grading is the industry standard, but only because they supply a very large chunk of the world's English Willow. Black Cat has its own willow, and so we grade it ourself.
We are more stringent than Wrights (and others) in some regard, less so in others.
An example being similar to your bat, Pete- if a cleft has 18 straight grains and half an inch of heartwood on the edge, we'd class that as Grade One.

I have 2 Black Cats, a Joker and a Shadow and I can honestly say in the performance is top notch. This is based on owning top bats from my first GN100 Scoop back in 1981.
Buy one, you will not regret

I second what matt said expect date and bat for me its 2009 and plain Pakistani bat :P

Going back to the title, I'm not sure what they are made of, but when you use one you call forth the power of ten tigers.....
