Title: Charlie French cricket bats
Post by: coverpoint_pro on April 26, 2011, 06:52:03 PM
Right ive changed the idea of this topic!
After looking at the profile of the charlie frenches, im a bit curious to know how they perform, as they seem very thin going towards the toe, is the bat forgiving, or do you have to hit the middle for the ball to fly off?
Ive never seen a design like this before!
Any input would be greatly appreciated before i go and pick one up!

Cheers

I think Gibson would be interested in it...

Is the bat semi hollow?

I don't understand what your saying jon ha

the only thing i know about the handle is this taken from their website
"ES330 handle is a composite handle made of natural materials that fully conforms to new MCC regulations. The ES330 creates minimal torque (handle twisting) which channels more energy through the shot, therefore producing more power"

Loads of people at my club have CF bats and they all rave about them.

Which particular model are you looking at? A few lads have new models this season, and I wouldn't describe any of them as having a thin toe. His 2011 bats all seem to have pretty big profiles.

...just to add to this, I've been borrowing a Charlie French Advance from a team mate, and oh my god it is sweet!!!

A couple of lads on the team work as agents for CF and have offered some discount to get a Premier Cru made to the spec of my choice. If I can free up the money I'm definitely going to have to make he investment

I've used Kaz's CF Premier Cru for a couple of throwdowns and that went very nicely I must say! :)

Yeah and left cherries on the edges which he then sold to me as brand new!

no longer own it, it was a quick fix for my redback being away, however my redback came back the day after the cf arrived and being a one bat man i had no need for it, it was going to go to colesy whilst i was away but got a last min offer that i accepted!

The face seems very flat on them, may sound odd but i couldnt really put my finger on why it was odd for ages. Seemed a decent enough bat! and i believe the new owner is chuffed!

Some of the lads at my club have said the same thing - my Laver is like that as well - personally I like it - feels like you're presenting a bigger surface area to the ball.
