Title: Rubber Cricket shoes
Post by: pacman75cricket on May 01, 2011, 09:33:15 PM
Any thoughts on rubber shoes for use on hard ground, like to bat in rubbers (have asics advance 2 for fielding/soft)

Budget approx £40

Like the look of Puma Calibre + 2010 Nike googly

Any feedback or recommendations  please.

not heard of anyone with the nike's. didnt fattus look into getting a pair, may be a topic somewhere, love the calibre range, heard they are v decent spikes also! I bought a set of 8's and they didnt fit unfortunately :( however i am an 8 in nikes, that may give an indication as to how sizes run, but i may just have odd feet!

were they too small? i bought my new tricks in a 12(my usual size) and they felt too small, luckily when i swapped the insoles to my custom ones they felt abit roomier.

With regards to rubbers, i wore puma stealth ones all last season for batting and bowling, were very good, were a couple of occasions i found myself slipping whilst running though.....

no they felt a little roomy! I think its because the nikes i have feel tiny due to the amount of padding!

Yep, my Nikes are definately snug at a size 11 - need to wear thinner socks with them.

Hoping my fat feet will expand them with wear!

Which nike are they + what is your opinion would you recommend 11.5?

Last years rubbers. Not sure if they do 1/2 sizes, but I reckon I could have gone half a size bigger.

My fault for not trying some on, I have Pumas in size 11 and they are fine.

I wear size 11 in Nike and they fit me well, ive worn 10 in other brands which were OK in terms of size but snug so id say Nike are slightly smaller than other brands. As far as I'm aware Nike don't offer half sizes however i will check if that helps you in any way.

Just checked the list and yes no half sizes available but they are the best on the market in my opinion so go for the size up from your normal size and they will be fine.
