Title: Kook Silvers 2011
Post by: justnotcricket86 on May 04, 2011, 10:10:17 PM
Evening chaps,

Just a quick one as I said I would stick some photos up of the new gloves. Picked these up from Owazt, along with a pair of Kook Kahuna keeping pads (which I may add, are brilliant. Just don't feel the need to review them) Good service etc, but we all know that so no need to babble on.

Got these delivered at work today and used them straight away in a T20 tonight. Straight away the balls were flying into them, stuck like glue and feel very supple and soft. They smell a bit, but that's the new car smell ;)

Was weighing up these and the Puma Tricks (luckily my original order had a problem so gave me time to rethink and order these) By far the best gloves I have ever used. I did get a pair of SS Camo LE Players gloves from peplow and they have been used a fair bit, but they are not relegated to back up pair. Which says a lot....

Huge catching area, traditional English cut and very nice fit. Feel big on without swamping my somewhat average hand size. Would suggest having a look at these if you are in the market. Out-perform my Wymer Customs (which will be shortly up for sale, along with some SS Gladiator 2011 WK pads)

Any questions, fire away keepers. We don't get as much porn as them batting fellas.

Will

I used a pair of kook silvers or whatever they were called about 5 yrs ago. Amazing gloves. So much so when they fell apart I bought another pair last season. In my opinion they are the best gloves I have used. I like the red, lol.

Few people have said they didn't like these and felt they were too flimsy / offered too little protection?

I had a pair of these but ended up swapping them for Puma's, having tried Kooka, Puma and Slazenger I always found Puma to be the easiest to keep with, seemed to have the softest leather and best designs

I love those gloves, am into my second season with them now and I think they're excellent.  Great feel, decent protection, light...can't really fault them.  The red is also more of a maroon in reality, which matches our kit!
