Well just thought I'd start this topic to tell you about my latest bat and softs acquisition
Here's the stats
Long blade 666 monster
2.12
Mid to low middle
Light as poss pick up
Knocked in with hammer edge applied
And ltd edition gloves and pads
So it all turned up yesterday and it looks.......
Well I can't tell you or show you for that matter as it's my birthday present for Sunday and the missus won't let me see them!!! AAAARRRRRGGGHHHHH

Right Well the bat and softs are here and all I can say is WOW H4L really have things screwed down the softs are amazing quality and the Gloves are easily the best gloves I've ever worn and I have had some really expensive (off the shelf) Brands in the past the Pittards leather is true quality and the flex in the Gloves are excellent. Pads look bulkier than I was expecting but are very light and really comfy much better than my Kooks from last year...
Now Onto the Bat ....What a beast again the bat is a much bigger size than I was expecting for the weight and considering it is a long blade picks up much better than my other Bat of comparable size (but is only a standard SH) It does have a few blemishes being a 3 star (small stain on the back of the bat but nothing on the face)
The spec is as follows
H4L 666 Monster (3 star)
Short handled Long Blade
Oval Handle
1 Grip
2lb 12 on the dot
7 Strait ish grains
Knocked in and Hammer edge applied
41mm (approx) edges
Small amount of Concaving all the way to the toe
I'd say picks up about 2.10 ish certainly doesnt feel its dead weight

Oh and I had a "quick tap up" with the mallet last night and the it definately feels pretty responsive but I will be able to report after the weekend on how it stacks up.

Softs look the business. Werent sure on the the gloves from the stock photo but they seem to look better from your pic lol.
I'm sure you'll be happy with the performance of your bat, unfortunatly i'm not doing mine justice atm, scored 21 in 3 innings!

Ive gotta say your absolutely right the Gloves look so much better in real life they dont seem to have that "Shine" that they do on the web and Im so pleased with them I've already had a couple of the lads comment on how much better the kit is than some of the off the bigger brand stuff doing the rounds at the mo and think a couple may be putting in some bat orders soon!
One last thing the service from Matt was superb even though this was only a 3 star bat he still seemed to go above and beyond and was very accomodating to my extravagent requests! lol
I dont think anyone can justify buying a bat off the shelf from a bigger brand (at some considerable cost) when you have this service available to you from a smaller hand made english brand?!

OOOOHHH!!!!
OK well on the H4L Website it says "The 3 star is made from grade 2 willow ,it will have 6+ grains and maybe a blemish or mark on the playing face"
But mine doesnt seem to have any marks on the face and has 7 Grains (Brucey Bonus!) :D :D

I had only just noticed I'd included those in the pic (was to busy looking at the Bat!) but yes I am now officially out of my 20's which I'm finding MASSIVELY Depressing!! :-[ :(

Just thought I'd let everyone know that if you have any scrap of money get it together and buy yourself a hell 4 leather bat I am not exaggerating here I got to use mine for the first time today and scored 50 not out with 36 coming off 12 balls with majority of those coming off their overseas fast bowler who was very quick the bare facts of it were the bat made a crack like a gun going off (something I haven't experienced with other bats) it's held up brilliantly against a new dukes ball (thanks to Matt for knocking it in for me) and everyone playing has commented on it saying how awesome it was thanks again to Matt for an awesome creation and I will definately be coming back for more h4l gear In the future

Really good actually very comfy and the protection is pretty good I had a separate thigh guard and inner gaurd before and this is definitely easier to use.
I did try the aero strippers and didnt like it as much

I use them as well, only thing that annoys me is the bulk of them

Hmmm Kits been fine its me thats been the issue this season!!!
Fits and starts I think describes it best had a couple of really good fifties and then lately I'm not doing the Bat justice which is sad..
Everyone that sees it all always comments and I've even had sponsored guys asking for Matts details do thats gotta be good.
