Handle on my redback went today, its all loose and wobbly! 2 net sessions and 2 matches, of which one i got not many so not much use, but then thats the nature of cricket bats i suppose, win some lose some, but not cool as its nearly new!! Such a shame just hope it'll be as great with its new handle as and when, annoying thing as its £20 down the drain and my last game before i go away without my bat :( :(
-
does anyone know what the general turn around time is for rehandles at redback, only i would love it for sat and cant wait much longer than that as wont be in the country!
-
Ouch, luckily I've never had to find out how long it takes for a rehandle.
The best thing you can do is ring/email around explaining that you're leaving the country and need it done before that date.
-
yeah have emailed, have had a reply with a price, but no time scale.
-
I mean if the bats not under warranty you could also take it to your nearest bat repairer who could probably guarantee you it by the weekend as you woudlnt have to do the postage
-
done the postage now, no idea of time frame, dont know what the warranties are on it but i guess mine wasnt in it as i paid have paid £20 in total. Just a shame it wasnt under warranty especially as i had only used it for 2 X 15 min nets, a 63n.o and a 0 lol!
-
yeah i was wondering why it wasnt under warranty?

any bat bought from a company should come with a 1 year warranty, including handle.

Not necessarily, it depends on each company as to what warranty they offer, just most cricket bat companies do offer a 1year guarantee
-
dunno i was just told it would be £15 (which is discounted apparently) and then postage to him too. its gotta be done so i've sent it, just a shame it wasnt under warranty...
-
Yeah 15 pounds is good value. The handle obviously isnt covered under warranty then by redback as if it was theres no way it would be out of warranty due to time.
-
yeah maybe so, anyway as long as this ones stays put its a good investment ;) hope it doesnt take too long!
-
sounds odd sam if you have not had it over a year surely the handle is free of charge i do not know any brand who do not offer this
-
problem may be that i didnt buy it direct....it's ok though as £15 is a decent price, foc would have obvs been better ;). We'll see what they say, gary may recognize that its not been used much at all!! however i fear the problem may be i didnt buy direct..
-
Couldn't you ask the person you got it off to see if they can get it repaired foc???
-
Good shout if it still under a year old does it matter it been passed over surely the warranty is 1 year no matter how many users or it the warranty only to 1 owner it a bloody good issue raised
-
Yeah I could ask them.
Dave I think it should just be looked at and decided from there. If It's been passed around absolutely battered and mis treated then def no warranty, even though technically the handle shouldn't go still.
If like me it was bought new and looked after and hardly used maybe there is a case.
