Looks like a 2.4 but picks up like a 1.15........

we have def gone much heavier with bats Lord Mac said he used to use a 2.3 GN when he was playing and couldn't believe the size of the 2.9 bat we had in the car boot when we saw him last! twice the thickness of his he reckoned lol

I put the picture up because judging by the grains in that pic, it is just an average looking bat. Probably Grade 2 in todays speak.

These days we obviously place a huge emphasis on light clefts and a multitude of straight grains - those days with edge thickness being largely irrelevant, the rebound would have been the only thing that would have been of interest - maybe not even that.

I wonder of bat nerds of the past recorded their thoughts?
