Title: Difference between SCAT Series 1 & 3?
Post by: Cover_Drive on May 17, 2011, 06:55:08 PM
As the title says. I know Series 3 is low middle but doesn't Series 1 have long middle?

Anyone has seen both or owned them?

Lastly Series 1 seem to start from 2.10 but can you get it in 2.8?

Cheers

They are not worth the money if you are buying a new one. Let me make that very clear. Great bats they are, yes, but no better than something costing half the price from the UK. But if your will is to pay £200 to have the stickers, go for it.

The differences in profile are shown well on the website.

I've owned a series 3 pro, which is the top grade. As good as anything I've had, but no better.

Why?

I mainly play on front foot and bounce I'd say is mid, not very high or low so which one would be better from these two?

It is opened in another tab and I have been drolling over the pictures for past 3 days and I also emailed Lachlan he/she said Julian will get back to me, he didn't so I thought I'd ask here

Series 3 on website defo has low middle, series 1 is throughout the blade thats what website suggest. Series 3 is swelled from low region

Got two custom made ones that are a hybrid of the two shapes in pro willow, no concaving. Both 2.8/9. Good sticks, awesome middles.....liked the first one so much I couldn't help but get another. As jon says though, id prob just get a good UK bat maker......be willing to say the Paradox I have has an equally good middle. Didn't know about this forum till after I got them both!

Julian is a top bloke though normally always answers any questions asked

would be a nice to see people add some pics of there bats and show the profiles etc etc, think that would help a few members who may or may not be interested.

Which one is which and whats the weight?

Is it me that the left one looks tad traditional shape :S
Title: Re: Difference between SCAT Series 1 & 3?

They are both between 2.8 and 2.9 mate.

I guess you could describe them as more 'traditional' as it is what I asked for.....traditional in the sense that there is no concaving in either of them. The edges (though not shown in the pics) are alot bigger than any other traditional shaped bats I've had. I basically asked him for a more traditional type bat, no concaving, mid to high sweet spot, light pickup at weight 2.8/2.9. Didn't care about looks just performance. His answer was that he would do a hybrid of the series 1 and 3 bats....and thats what I got....they were made in 2008 (pink grip) and 2009 (yellow) so I don't know if the shapes were diff back then.

Defo lucky, do you mind if I ask was there a delay somewhere in the deal etc?
Title: Re: Difference between SCAT Series 1 & 3?
Post by: Jenko on May 17, 2011, 08:19:12 PM
What do you mean by delay? I think from first contact and emails bouncing back and forth I had paid for one within a couple of weeks. It took him a few days to get in touch with me to begin with.

Tom Ayrtek I think!
And no idea - will have a look at the descriptions on site.
The pro in the pic was custom made for a western Aussie player and the other I haven't really investigated which series.  :(
