Guys
I have a new adidas master blaster bat which I have oiled once and now knocking it ....
I have following questions:
1. Should I oil it again after knocking ..
2. I do not intend to put a scuff sheet on, so basically just wanted to know how often should I oil [lightly ofcourse] it considering the oil might dry off or vaporize? We play one 40-40 game every weekend and usually on avg. I bat for 40-45 balls [being the one-end blocker of the team]
Thanks

personally I would just put the scuff sheet on.

Thanks
But i do not want to put a scuff sheet on ... i just hate them when they start to peel off from the toe area ...
I will although put fiber tape on the edges ..
Thanks again

How quickly did it suck up the last lot of oil? If it really sucked it up quick then put another light coat on or even better get some Salix bat wax and give it maybe 1 more application of that for this season, it's better to under oil than over oil. Do agree with Buzz though, a good scuff sheet as well as protecting the bat will help to keep it at a constant moisture level...

Correct me if I'm wrong but my thinking is based on whether you want performance or you want to extend the bat's life.
If your wanting to prolong the life of the bat then oil it once before the season then once in the middle of the season.
If your purely after a performing bat then leave it without oil. A scuff sheet applied just above the toe will avoid the problems you've previously experienced.

Thank you guys.
I guess I will oil it once midseason. If I feel its dry [since the weather in Colorado, where I play, is very dry] I might oil it lightly after 4-5 games.
Thanks again. You guys are awesome.

If your playing in Colorado then I imagine the bat drying out could be an issue, not like the damp and dreary UK! Still think you'd be better off with a scuff tho! ;)

After thinking about it a bit, I think I will go the popular and the logical choice/advice and just put on a scuff sheet.
Thanks

Slightly off topic. I've been to Colorado, I love it there! The rockys are awesome
