is the general view having 2 grips will make the pick up feel lighter?
i'm using a slightly heavier bat than normal(2.12) but dont want to keep changing bats,i'd like to stick with this one..
any views appreciated
thanks

Having two grips would increase the overal weight, but it would raise the centre of gravity, thus making the pick up feel lighter. But your arms will tire quicker as you are still picking up a heavier weight

And to be fair, with a single grip adding 3/4 oz you are hardly going to notice any difference at all on a bat currently weighing more than 44 times the weight of the grip...

Not a massive difference but octopus grips at least are closer to 1.5oz than 3/4 oz

thanks for the tips i'm getting an extra grip to see how it goes.
Interesting most of the pros use light bats(but lightly pressed cos they get given them) but then again they dont play on uncovered tracks like(most) of us
thanks

So 3 grips would be even better yer? :)

The Pro's tend to have standard pressing, or even a touch more, rare to see anyone use a soft pressed bat, of course they have them fully match prepared apart from one brand which was a surprise to me. I actually got Peplow to knock in 4 bats for county players before his holiday as they use them straight from the off.
Gripping wise get an oval handle made, it will feel better than a stack of grips and improve your shots due to lower torsion etc.

To me this is a complete preference thing. It's all about feel. A heavy but balanced bat will feel so much nicer (not lighter) than a Lighter, (perhaps cheaper) bat without the right balance.
I still cant decide if I prefer two grips or one. Some of my bats have two and some have one.
Also went through a phase where I had two grips for the bottom hand (Half grip underneath) and one for the top.
Not sure where you're getting the idea that Pros use light bats (Tendulkar, Chris Gayle just a couple of examples) also one Sri Lankan batsmen allegedly used to have many many grips on a bat. I think this just reiterates my point. It's about preference.
Try it, if it works for you, run with it...

apparently Hayden used 5 grips on some of his bats ...

Kieron Pollard said he use's 4 on his bat
