Got a nasty friction burn on my upper leg/hip due to sliding to stop a 4... shudda let it go in hindsight..
But, i was justwondering if anyone out there had any remedies for this as it's agony and i wanna be fit for saturday! it is just starting to heal but the centre is still pretty raw.
Thanks,
Tom.

Cheers Buzz, i'll look into that! :)
-
you can buy special plasters to go over it which are like a 2nd skin to protect it. try Boots :)
also - wear undershorts when fielding!
-
ahh i'll check tomorrow, are they see-through? I think i might of had them before. i forgot about them! haha. Cheers.
I know, im gunna wear my batting shorts till i find some affordable ones haha!

They're usually called "Hydrocolloidal" plasters, and they create a liquidy gel-like protection.

Friction burn? Agony? Man the hell up. :D
-
Nothing like peeling the sheets from it in the morning ;)
Bit late in the day, but most of us at our club do wear our batting shorts or we do get the occasional 'stud' wearing cycling shorts to prevent this. also a few of them have got them 'skins' full leg stockings and swear by them.
I had a bad friction burn last season and used a alovera gel, as recommended by 'nanny' Burdy, worked a treat.

Jon, its still red raw after 4 days. It's starting to settle down this evening though :D. -Germolene is ace! haha.
Yeaah, Nanny Davies saw some NikePro shorts in TK Maxx today so invested in them for me :). So, that should help avoiding furhter burns! haha.
Ahh, i'll add that to the growing list. I'm going to have to withdraw some dosh to go into boots tomorrow! haha. Thanks for the advice though! :)

Aloe Vera Gel is good for all burns, grazes etc.

Just though i'd let you all know.. It's starting to peel today and reveal the new skin underneath! :D.
The middle is still quite raw, but i think i should be fit for the weeekend! :D
Thanks for all the tips!
-
great news mate :) ;)
-
you can imagine the joy of seeing that lovely normal skin underneath! it was a magical moment! haha. :D

Unguentum cream is the best I have used, had a nast one on my leg from rugby a few years back and it cleared it up in a few days- aftre a few weeks of pain from not using it. It's pronounced Un-Gwen-tum cream. :)

Cheers Bruce, if it happens again, which i seriously hope it doesnt!! i will get some!
Thanks!
