Anyone else bat and bowl? I can bat and bowl but am a pretty shocking fielder!
-
i bat, bowl ( althought havent this year as keeping full time) field and wicket keep. Do everything to an ok standard.
-
Primarily a batsman, very much a part-time bowler, and even more of a part-time fielder!

Ditto

I'm having a good year so far... averaging 37.50 with the bat and 29 with the ball :) Dropped a few catches though!
-
I bat, bowl and i'm a pretty good fielder, have never kept but looking to do it in the 6's tournaments this year to have a go at it.
-
Open the batting, bowl first change. Normally 7 in my first spell and then a few to finish the innings. And an alright fielder if I may say so!

no bad at all. averaging just under 38 and taken 15 catches and 10 stumpings in 16 games. would be nice to have a few more 50 plus scores under my belt. 5 so far.
-
Historically been a bowler, but I can bat and this season have had to, with an average in the 40s, so am being An all rounder...Opening the bowling and adding some backbone to our batting.

Sounds like me hahaha. I'm not bad at catching though, just shocking ground fielder...
-
Ha this threads moved from All Rounders to Batsmen bragging again!
My Average is up from 10 to 23 with the bat
Bowling taken 25 wickets at 12.6
Only taken catches though.

I'm the other way round, my ground fielding this season has been very good, but I've been a bit teflon regarding catches... Batting is averaging 35, bowling is about 17. For some reason our cup match wasn't uploaded onto the play-cricket site, so it doesn't taken into account my 25* and 4-21 (my best figures this season!) :'(
-
I would love to bowl more. When I was a nipper pretty good bowler. Loopy inswing type of thing. Lost it with the bowling as I got older and the batting developed. Average with the bat is 26 and a bit. In the past 10 years I've only bowled 56 overs. Taken 23 wickets at an average of 15.7. Strike Rate of 14.64. Best figures of 4 for 9 off 4 overs. Economy is where it all goes a bit pear shaped.
As for fielding - shocking.
-
i'm not getting a bowl and feel i should be..... its soo frustrating especially when i see some right crap served up by my team mates
-
have a word with the skipper. surely he has nothing to loose if the rest of the team are going at a fair rate. you cant do much worse really
-
Get the good batsman out in the nets Canners then they cant ignore you!
-
I thought I was developing into a batsman after being purely a bowler in youth cricket, but if I don't bowl in a match it really annoys me. Happy now with the game I am getting at the weekend being an all rounder
-
Open or come in at 3 with bat plus I am 3rd highest wicket taker for 1st at the mo having bowled half the amount of overs the rest have and had 8 catches dropped off my bowling not bad for first season of spin but used to bowl pace till knee went then kept wicket
Not a bad fielder but a very good slipper

I've tried that, he's said i can get a bowl in the sunday league games and learn my trade their, whuich i thinks a load of cods considering we only play about 6 sunday league games and are yet 2 play one

the good batsman never turn up to nets at my club, in fact nets rarely happen unless i organise it (can you hear that violin) lol
-
move clubs? go for captain next year and bowl yourself when you want. captain sounds a bit of a dick tbh. how are you going to learn your trade bowling once every few weeks at best.
-
I don't necessarily consider myself an all rounder, but do have to bowl in Sunday matches. Shows the gulf between Saturday cricket and Sunday cricket, given that I don't get near the ball in Saturday cricket (have 1 league wicket in the last 2 years).
So far this season I have 627 runs @ 44.79, and 9 wickets at 18.89, with 5 catches (must confess to having spilled a couple as well)
-
Averaging 26 with the bat and 19 with the ball in my short career and I think I'm a good fielder not dropping many catches with a big arm.
-
I wouldn't class myself as an allrounder yet. I am not a 5 wicket a match bowler but I get the ball to swing and although I sometimes have a bad over or two, I usually make up for it and go for about 3 an over on average.
I'm 15 and this is my first proper season of adults cricket so I still have a long while to progress and I am improving quite quickly(Bowling, batting and fielding) so maybe in 2/3 seasons I MIGHT be an allrounder.
-
YOu don't need to be a five wickets per match bowler to be an allrounder. You can be as useful taking 1 wicket and giving away fewer than two runs an over. That creates untold pressure and the bowlers at the other end will then get a load of wickets... That's the way I've bowled for years. Low wickets (2 or 3 generally) and low runs, creating pressure.
-
id much rather a bowler that gave a way few runs and got the odd wicket than someone that bowls a 4 ball an over and takes 3 or 4 wickets
-
I go for runs and take wickets. Being a leg-spinner it can go two ways. Go for runs and take wickets or keep it tight and take none or one wicket/s.
My economy in my career is around 5.5 but s/r is 21 and average is 19.
Overs runs wickets best econ s/r ave
This year is 46.4 226 14 5/19 4.84 20.01 16.14
Has a couple of games missing with wickets and runs
-
My brother can under 15's and 17's most runs and Wickets
I on the other hand can only bowl in nets
-
My career stats for F&B have me in the allrounder club:
http://fbcc.play-cricket.com/profile/statistics.asp?id=11757501
Current league batting average is 39, bowling average 10
-
I keep and generally bat anywhere in the top 4 on a saturday in the league and about 7 on a Sunday, does that allow me to be an all rounder?
-
League batting average in 2010 - 34.6, bowling average 10.3
-
Before i knackered my back (and my younger years) i used to open the bowling or 1st change and bat around 6 or 7, used to open in overs games with field restrictions. ( oh they were the days )
Now it is 3 or 4 overs max probably 2nd or 3rd change before the back goes and still bat 6 or 7.
Thought about turning my arm at spin or just bowling 2 step military seamers as some of the dross i have seen this year gets wickets
-
Used to be mainly a bowler who could handle the bat down the order, but then had a shoulder reconstruction and focussed on my batting. Last two seasons in AUS have been pretty good with my new role opening the batting and bowling first change (shoulder is getting better each year!)
