As I've mentioned in threads previously my club have had a long standing relationship with Charlie French, stemming back to the club tours that used to go to Nottinghamshire in the 90's. He's also previously sponsored the team, and has quite often given our club members generous discounts.
A couple of our lads are now working as agents for him. Was speaking to one guy tonight who said that he can get the best discount if he bulk buys. An order for 5 Premier Cru bats works out at near enough £160 each, as opposed to the £240 advertised on the CF website. So I asked if he was comfortable with me sticking on something on here to that effect - he is!
The Premier Cru description is as follows:
The Premier Cru bat is made from the very best pieces of premium willow, put to one side by the willow merchant for the finest elite blades. The bat can be made in any of the shapes in our range, or to your own specifications. These really are exceptional bats!
Available in weights above 2lb 8oz
Each blade is tested for moisture content
Natural burnished finish
Pressed to perfection, tested throughout the pressing procedure with a mallet
Long, short and super short handles
Hand crafted
So if you would like to take advantage of this, please get in touch. If there's more than 5 of us then I'll co-ordinate it through my contact.
-
I'd Recommend one! They are awesome bats!!
-
That seems a hell of a good deal. Its bascially 30% discount for a top quality bat custom made if I read correctly.CF bats are very well regarded in leagues around me. Id be tempted if others showed an interest
-
one of the lads at my club uses Charlie French gear, it's all good stuff.
-
That is indeed a great deal.
Now when CF and/or Co sign up for advertising space it would contribute much required funds to the running of this forum.
-
It doesnt look like advertising to me..Just a fellow cricketer pointing out a good deal. Do ebay need to pay for advertising space because links to ebay bats are often linked by forum members pointing out good bargains?
-

Tis the difference though between out and out marketing of a product, versus sharing a good deal with other forum members.
I've pitched this to the admin team, and we agreed I'd make one thread, and one thread only regarding this deal, and I am refraining from jumping on other peoples threads when they ask "what bat should I get for less than £200 budget" etc...
This deal is basically been arranged via a 3rd party, not directly with CF.
-
off topic, but well done to Johnny for going about things in the correct way and checking with Admin first.
-
Nice one Johnny - good to see mate :)
May well have some business for you as it happens
-
As CF (plus numerous CF agents in one club) are dealing in bulk sales, can I request one of these chaps to email me prices (based on the above mentioned specs by the OP) for 50 units (withouts stickers) for export ?
-
So you can resticker and sell as Lekkas?

I'd imagine that for an order of that size you would be much better contacting CF directly.
The 'agents' Charlie has at our club aren't full time sales personnel by any stretch, and I doubt they would be geared up to deal with an order that big.
If you are being serious, I can happily make some enquiries - or are you just Trolling?
-
If photos can be provided of clefts available I could be interested.
-
charlie french simply makes outstanding bats for sure
greatly underated i wasbrought up on these bats and not had a bad one.
without doubt one of england finest
-
I have PM'd you Johnny.
-
Its odd that there isnt a profile pic on their website. Ive only ever heard great things about CF bats and this sounds a cracking deal at 160e. Does anyone have a profile pic?

Thanks, I thought the Premier Cru was a more modern chunky profile, That looks like a traditional Advance profile.
-
The website says they can make it to any shape in the range, or to a shape of your choice.
-

Apologies, the pics I posted are of the Advance model.
-
The Premier Cru does not have a stock shape, you can have it how you like.
Here's a link to one that was previously for sale:

Looking at the CF website, all the other bats do have a profile pic.
His current profiles do generally seem to be a bit chunkier. The advance on his website is a bit bigger than the Advance James has posted
-
Quick bump.
Have a few people interested but not 5 yet.
My mate says he can do them for £180 if there are less than 5 orders if peeps are still interested in that.
-

-
that's always a possibility.. but i have to return to prague to do that or try to do it on here. i haven't seen it yet so will check it over and make a decision.. not trying to delay matters but i have 3 bats waiting for me..
-
Ok.. about to post to sell some excess gear on here to finance one of these CF Premier Crus so hopefully you can count me in within the next few days...

I don't think you are mate, read the forum selling rules

Gold star nick ;)
50 QUALITY posts needed before you start selling on the forum
-
JNC86 do you still have any interest in the offer?
-
My 2 mates never came back to me mate - sorry about that. Could only ask them for you and show them the thread
-
I don't think you are mate, read the forum selling rules
I did but i thought the 50 posts rule was abandoned depending on the quality of the posts.. If i've breached them then I'm happy for moderators to take the post off.. hopefully not though as I really would like one of these CFs and I'm an honest man just recycling quality surplus gear...
-
you do have to have 50 posts on here. You don't on cricketinsight at the moment though. I'd be tempted to do a quick copy and paste. I can't delete the current topic from my phone
-
It is 50 quality posts that you have to have, so I can see your confusion.
-

Thanks Johnny.. have done and I shall wait for my 50 quality posts if any of the gear remains. I realise this is a contentious issue and it must be difficult and time consuming for mods to justify 50 quality posts and who would have the time!?
-
we don't vet every single post, but when a member signs up and tries to get to 50 posts quickly it's pretty obvious, and they'll find the non "quality" posts just get deleted *cough* banjo7 *cough*

Hey Johnny.. how's this offer looking? do you have 5 takers already? are u still awaiting 5 confirmations and lastly, have you been given any indication how long it'd take to get the bats to the lucky new owners? It's just that I return to Prague near the end of this month.. thanks..
-
Still don't have 5 orders, and without placing an order it's impossible to get an accurate lead-time.
-
If you don't mind me asking how many do you have confirmed?
-
0
...I don't think anyone is prepared to confirm until there are 5.
Have 3 interested including you, and if my Laver sells I'm on board too.
Maybe we should start a list on the thread?
-
Johnny ... apologies if I missed it in the thread, but is it correct that the Premier Cru can be made in different shapes ... and where on the CF site can I see the different shapes? Just can't find the page
-
Here's a link to the stock shapes - so you can get a Premier Cru made in the shape of an Advance, Aria, Recurve or Tourist, or have one made to your own spec.

As you know.. i'm selling some excess cricket gear on e-bay due to not having enough posts on here - doing my best to sell by dropping prices and have less than a day to go on the current listings.. if they sell tomorrow I can confirm...
-
Maybe we should put a deadline on it...
Say a week from now, Friday 22nd July, to get the 5 orders together...
If there aren't enough takers, maybe shelve it? The offer in theory isn't time bound, it's just reliant on 5 people wanting a bat at the same time, which is proving to be a pain in the (No Swearing Please)!
-
Sounds like a plan.. that cut off date is too late for me unless they will send to prague (can be sorted later).. let's see what the response is perhaps with a dedicated thread to the week cut-off..
-
it's only a week away! I'm sure we can sort something to prague if need be.
-
This bat selling/offering is not as easy as it would seem JF :)

Indeed, maybe I'll leave it to you pro's in the future.
-
final bump before the Friday deadline. My friend has 5 orders through other avenues, but peeps can still piggy back that order to get the £160 price
-
Mate.. i've decided to stick with my newly acquired salix rogue which is feeling great on continued knockin' in.. was also very tempted by kavi's M&H Harlequin but have staved myself off from buying that too.. I may regret both decisions in future but hopefully other opps will arise on here and ebay.. even if I have to wait..thanks to you though for pushing to keep this great offer alive.. I hope others realise how good an opportunity and saving this is on the normal price..

Sent you a PM.
-
Unless someone can find 5 whole orders again, this is now over.
-
Dam! Ive just seen this and would be interested for sure!
-
Unless someone can find 5 whole orders again, this is now over.
Does this apply to ALL orders or just those from yesterday onwards?
-
don't worry previn, your order is included. Still need that address though
-
I was concerned for a sec there lol. Will send you the address tommorow, Thx
-
one of the lads at my club uses Charlie French gear, it's all good stuff.
Stewart Rodden?
-
^ random 2 months later post!? The guys off the forum who took this offer up are starting to receive their bats now. One guy has sent me pics of the sachin profile he requested and it's huuuge!
-
How come they are only receiving them now mate?
-
the order was only placed about 2 weeks ago. The thread is a couple of months old but it took time to get up to the 5 orders. Plus the recipient of the huuuge sachin lives in canada, so it took time to ship
-
Owwww ok. Was concerned reading that incase I take you up on the bulk order and thought I could struggle getting before summer 2017 Haha
-
bats aren't a problem. He quotes 2 week leadtime at the moment. They're out of gloves at the moment though, and have said they don't know when they'll get any back in. Not until xmas i would guess.
-
Ok buddy. Cheers for the heads up
-
I ordered one of the Sachin profile bat. It is huuugeeee as Johnny said. I actually got a bat copied and the Charlie French may be even better than the original. I will know better when I use it in the middle. I will do a review in a few days. I am very busy for the next couple of weeks.
