Title: redback pads
Post by: tommo256 on June 30, 2011, 11:00:53 PM
Hello,
I had a pair of redbacks last season, and a friend had a pair up until last week until they broke in a similar fashion to mine did last season, he dived and the buckles just snapped off. I wondered had this happened to anyone else on the forum with pads, not neccessarily redback but generally

Never had a problem with any of my pads, had GM 606s for a few years and I've had my Ayrtek's for a while now and no problems except a nice red mark from a wet ball in my cricket bag :/

I had a couple of pairs of the older style Redback pads that went at the buckle.  I mostly put it down to the outrageous chunkiness of my calves - it's difficult to find straps long enough to encase them properly.  I used the 2010 modern style Redback pads all through last season without any problems though.  Am currently using some Newbery GT335s that I got on Ebay for £24

I've used Redback pads since the start of the season and have found them excellent. They are very comfortable and hardly noticeable when batting in them. In fact I have them on here for sale:

had this happen with a pair of GN pads, GN sent me a free new plastic buckle after i called them up, which my mum repaired for me :) i think they have a tendancy to go brittle and just snap.
