Right bought a bat from a forum member
spec
2lb 10 ish possibly heavier but great pick up and feels like it.
grains around 10
it has massive 46mm edges and the thing is hugh
Tell you what i have been pampared with all the "nice bats" and great finished bat but this bat is something else indeed.
I can tell you i do not know where it was made i have been given vague information about it and was sceptical but i have just picked it up and although it is rough around the edges for a new bat and make big indentations when struck with a mallett on that test alone it bloody fly and in the most important area just above and just below the middle.
My theory on bats has changes it is the coverage of goodness not the quality of middle as a club cricketer i tend to play on indifferent decks and middle the ball maybe 1 in 3 times so coverage it is.
This bat is outstanding in my in my eyes it may not last long but it will go like the clappers maybe it is the added weight as i use a 2lb 7oz normally but im happy with it.
I know the bat is indian made for sure and i also know that if i middle it it might go a long way.

thats boooooooootifull!
-
apparently there more of these bats available as well but i must say i have nothing to do with them
-
Do you have any pictures of the shoulders and handle Dave ?
-
yes mate indeed i sort them now my thoery looks sareen buy maybe not
-
46mm edges at 2lb 10oz - I'm guessing Pakistani.
-
what makes u say that tom? over dried?

sweeeeeeeeeet
-
Another Larsons.
-
is it mate all i know is it plays well off a mallett and did not cost me the earth either
You 100 per cent sure James ???
-
Maybe BAS
-
Is there a real noticeable difference between this and the laver? Ping wise
-
yes i would say so this is a much softer pressed bat for sure but the coverage is massive maybe due to the size of the thing but inital response are good indeed and it should play like a blinder
the new reserve is good as well but pound for pound or ouncew for ounce it would be close at the minute
-
keep me in mind . . .in case you dont get along with it. . .Dave
-
got a feeling it's a keeper half knocked in now been at it since 1 it starting to manipulate nicely indeed
any advances on were it was made and by who??
or is it definatly Larsons
-
From what i hear . . .Larsons are one of the better bat pressers in India. . . .not a bad thing.
-
not when it was in a batch of 8 for a certain player it not but in my eyes it is a good un
-
How much did you pay Dave ?
-
i paid what was asked for it i did not haggle i was assured performance and it looks i may just have it.
-
Where was the bat made again Dave ?
-
I do not know mate the truth is i was never told i suspect India as i said in first post mate.
-
used it tonight with old reader soverign matchballs man there some dints in it now but i tell you the thing goes like a rocket
I hit one ball out of the ground quite easily and for me that is not often.
Maybe in my mind but the big bat i felt much more confident and i will get some pictures up of the bruseis to it.
I knocked it in around the edges but forgot up around were the stickers would be and the indents are quite big but it bloody goes
-
is it one of these - it'll go but wont last bats?
-
noi do not think so it similar to the saren sport i mentioned
i get pictures up it nothing at all just a few very deep seam marks but that is away from the scuff and the main playing area.
The coverage of the bat is impressive
-
Stop saying that Dave. . . . you're making me feel jealous >:(
-
definitely Pakistan made in my opinion
-
why do u think so Rich?
-
definatly hits the ball out of the park in my hands.....
Not sure bought from the batman himself made by a goblin and forged in a shed somewhere made for a genuine one day master and used by a plodder
It is Indian in origin i have just found that out....
-
just a feeling i have thats all and it can be difficult to tell from pictures on here but id be pretty sure, ive had and seen a lot of stuff coming out of Pakistan of late and looks fairly familiar.
-
came out of india and the profile is lets just say very special
-
to be fair Dave 10 mins back you didn't have a clue where it was from lol but it makes little diff where its from bud.
-
i always new it was indian as i said in the first post and i know who it was originally made for Rich
the profile is very iconic for the player
But i bought it because of the mystery behind it and it uniqueness i like different things...
nice bat indeed and heavy but i can just about weild it :D
-
Tendulker or Pietersen?
-
not that old chestnut Dave i got bored with that whole thing about 6 months back when so many others were on about it.
-
Dave's got a big smile on his face today alright. . .
-
look at the edge size only one player i have seen uses edges this big in international cricket but as i said it mine now and i like it
need some more gym work though Canners lad :D
the person who did sell it now wishes he did not
-
The image is entitled 'Kohli' guess that tells you all. (so it could be an SS, SG, Protos, GM or anything else)
-
This is what I like about you Dave, every bat you buy is the best bat in the world.
I just hope this Indian made big edged pro bat is better than the last Indian made big edged pro bat you owned and sold because the edges were too big. :)
-
yes it plays better in fact i never used the morkal bat but this one i have used now.
And no it still in the shadows of the mighty private bin and my old unbrandead sareen sports...
But i did hit a bloody big 6 which like i said mate for a plodder is not bad and considering it only had a bit of a knocking in session is good.
I never called this a pro bat it was in a batch and was rejeceted but it is the PRO bat now.(hate talking 3rd person it's creepy)
The best bats i get Jon i do not sell the rest do get sold no doubt
-
talking about private bins ;)
-
yes mate you can borrow it i know it in england getting fixed again big chops...
-
haha will you stop breaking that bloody thing ;)
-
that bat has 2 new shoulders and had a crack halfway down the blade through the splice but still going..
-
YES
first match with the beast hit a massive 6 on my way to 40 off around 25 balls i converted on the heavier bat now for sure.
Got to say the 6 came out of the screws and for a man famed for not hitting sixes i was happy and it went around 400 meters well around 55 maybe
Happy as larry the performace is there after around 5 hours knocking in and 1 net
-
I know GM and RNS Larsons use a reddy/purple rubber in their handles
-
Lat update oon this one
going very well indeed had a smashing bowling machine session today hit the ball very very hard.
Love it it is a fad for me the heavy bat i will be sticking to it thank you for supplying it to the relevent persons maybe want another
-
Just like to say the bat is still going well i have used it 2 more times and got value for the shots i played scoreing a quick 40 and a 60.
Used my laver reserve on saturday and that is bloody good too
-

For a minute I thought that was my living-room rug and thought WTF! Lol :)
My Sunday skipper had a bat that looked somewhat like that, origins are different I suspect, however his bat was a £16 bat from Pakistan and it went like a rocket. :D
-
now now anybody get me anothe for 16 quid i would pay postage
-
now now anybody get me anothe for 16 quid i would pay postage
Haha! :D - It was from the parent of one of the colts that I help to coach. It really was a goer, performed damn well but wasn't made to last - broke after about a month...
That said the 2 people who used it were destructive batsmen, not touch players like you Dave ;)
Though when he gets more bats I will try one, if it's really a very good bat I will let you know and get you one - that being if you're interested.. :)
-
you know me mate always after one off's bud
-
Received my 2 bats today from the Lahore eagles player and good mate Ali azmat
Received a mb malik which needs a bloody good refurbishment but the bat Taps as nice as I have taped for a while can see why he gets the pick

Didn't think you were interested in edge size (as claimed during the last Laver phase)?
-
not mate but some are the two bats i have do not have big edges but it gives people the idea of the size of the bats.
Still using the Laver Reserve so hardly a phase but thank Jon for popping up good to know you are well..
Aye a true pro bat as well
what must the world be coming too
Edges are not the biggest there no concaving at all with the malik and minimal with the millat bat.
-
Malik fully refurbished and looking not bad indeed lovely shape is the malik sher never new how good the profile is
-
THE MALIK is the black grip one next 2nd to end next to the laver reserve.
