Being one of the members of my team who is a regular for boundary patrol at either cow corner, deep square or deep point, please wish me luck for this weekends game.
i say wish me luck as i am playing on a pitch that is directly next to another pitch that where the boundary overlaps. i could be fielding deep point or deep square on our pitch and at short square or short point on the next pitch. I may have to field in the deep with a lid!!
Ive even done a self portrait to show you where i may be. (must admit, i am quite arty!)

It surely can't overlap that close to the square. Are you sure there is 2 games on there this weekend?
I played on a ground with 3 squares, if there are 2 games on they they USAF the outside 2 with the boundaries going up to the middle square and if there is only one game then they use the middle wicket
-
I can promise you that the boundary stops at the square on both pitches. I have played at both of these pitches for a number of years. I am sure that Canners has also played here in his time in the league.
And yes, there are always 2 games going on as both of the squares are owned by 2 different teams
-
I can safely say that that has never happened to me, fields I play on are always big which means I rarely hit 6's, ahah lol.
-
This is similar to Leigh on Seas ground where their 4ths and 5ths play, they overlap sometimes
-
The ground is Leigh on sea and Westcliff, didnt know there 4th - 5th teams ground does it also. Think i may try and sneek into the slips the weekend
-
might overtake you on the way there mate we're playing old souths this weekend
-
Kenilworth wardens is similar....ish to this.
-
If you skittle them out for not many Canners pop over on the way through, you may even see a rare sight and see me bowling!! >:( ok, maybe not. might go and do the sarf'end circuit on the seafront
-
Got the same situation myself this weekend - both pitches share the same boundary!!! Luckily I have a jelly arm and dont find myself patrolling the boundary that often :D
-
as if you can play like that wtf?
id just refuse to play absolute joke!
i get mad enough when playing for nicks team when we have no upmires lol

Similar but dont overlap

for the slow people here, are you saying that the boundaries meet or actually overlap ie. you are standing on another teams pitch and they are fielding on yours?
-
nick by the looks of things the boundraie on the right pitch is practically on the square!! of the other so they over lap lol

Yes that's right. What he is saying is that where he could be standing is deep square leg on his pitch and short point on the other pitch. On the same token deep cover on the left square pitch is short point on the pitch Burdy is playing on.
Never seen that before, we've had shared boundaries but never overlapping boundaries. Odd.
-
i played a handful of games in perth WA where the boundaries would overlap by 5-10m or so. we were always told to field on your side of the other teams boundary. never seen something so close before. must play havoc
takes me back to being a kid! ' can we have our ball back please'
-
Must be one of the only pitches where it's safer to field at silly point than mid wicket :)
-
I wouldn't play on a ground like that! Imagine seeing players from another game standing at cover facing the other way!
-
how can it be safe to field with your back to another games batsman?
-
Surely it's fantastic if both teams don't have enough players? Then you can have one guy covering the area for both teams!
-
i won't be playing at this ground now as i have been called up to the 1's. Was looking foward to playing 2's as i am in need of some batting time as i have been out of action for a while, but i am not complaining. i get to play against Canners mate again, see if I can do him a nice turn and get him some bragging rights.

you let me down...... what happened?
-
Not only let u down, let ourselves down. We bowled well, but fielded and batted like a village team. Jason and bip batted well. Was an incident that happened in their batting that changed the whole game in their favour, they bucked their ideas up and we thought the game was ours.
I got cleaned out for 4 only facing 2 balls with a peach of a delivery.
Again, umpiring was interesting in regards to lbw's and caught behinds.
Another great day in the league! Lol
-
we had an eevn worse batting performance...
one of our bowlers bowled out of his skin to achive figures of 9-70, we couldnt chase down a target of 160 whish was really frustrating...
what was this incident?

Will send u a pm
