I think he should be in the England 20/20 side instead of Luke Wright regardless of his age.
Your thoughts?
-
Showing his skills off here pretty well with the ball and def hits it with the bat
-
Many more players around the county circuit that deserve their chance before him.
-
Such as?
-
Im not saying that he should be in the team. I just think he is a better option than Luke Wright
-
Got to bck that comment up nick....
-
Yes a better option than Wright, but then so is Butler, Maynard, Roy, (Dare I say it Durston), Trego, Bairstow, Taylor.
-
Although saying that, have just checked through the averages, and he is having a pretty stellar season!!
-
Only trego/dureston bowls in that lot tho...
-
Think that's the point johnny was making he's in a purple patch in regards to form and is a better bet than wright ATM

Before today, Stevens had bowled 7 overs, 2-50. Not good figures!! Trego 15 overs, 4-121 (Not good), Durston 25 overs, 9-200 (Not good either). Checking the averages, I take it back and I think he should be in that group but all these players could be challenging for a spot.

Averages mean very little in T20. Its when and how the runs are scored etc. Also the economy rates on different type pitches etc
-
Stevens had a pretty goo year last season too if I remember rightly. He got a call up to the lions as well, just think his age will count against him. Shame really, he's meant to be a really nice bloke
-
he is now 35 something like that he is doing well but will he be able to make the step up to international cricket ?
