got in touch with chris at the beginning of december and after being convinced by a few of his e-mails ordered a grade 1+ bat, i chose my cleft from a few various ones and went with one with tight grains and no blemishes. i told chris i wanted a bat that weighed 3lb or just under and i wanted his standard profile as it were, i left the rest to him and eagerly awaited its arrival.
illness and a busy day job meant i didn't get the bat unitl early january but didn't mind as nets havn't started. i got the bat through and was amazed by the grains and the overall quality of the bat, it really is amazing considering chris is only a part time bat maker, his work is easily on par, quality wise, with any bat maker apart from maybe the really top guys! the bat weighs 2.15 exactly with 1 grip and scuff sheet, and has a large profile and the longest middle i have ever known (approx 2 inches from toe right up to and beyond the sticker line), the pickup is nice, feels 2.13 or so and the ping is sensational, it really is!
if i were you i'd buy a bat of him before he puts his prices up (his bats are worth more), here are some pics of it,

I cant wait to get mine :)

Yeah love Chris's profiles...

I really like the look of the bat and the grains are top drawer. It seems that Mr E has been had some sort of transference of bat making skills from some of his tools!!!
I wish we saw more of these bats on the forum, they are made with passion and that cannot be underestimated as a factor in bat making. This is not a boring day job feeding clefts into a machine, this is something much more.

Have you not got one Mike?

Looks well made and grains look nice although not personally a fan of the profile of this one. I prefer the more defined middles, like the first CE you did I think.
-
i too initially prefered the profile of the other one that was for sale on the forum, but i have grown to love this one

CE is a brand to look out for good reviews and top notch willow

The tools have helped, i only really use the drawknife i bought off you.
The profile isn't my favourite but when i tapped it with a mallet i was surprised by the length of the middle.

What email are you on Chris? I need to speak to you before the weekend. Cheers
