Hi everyone, I started with handled G2 cleft and "goose" profile was in mind as wanted to try it from some time now. Without a vise was a lot harder than expected and hand binding was a pain on that long handle. any ways final weight is 2.11 lbs with no concaving.
tools used-
drawknife
travisher
spoke shave
50 and 150 sand paper, bee wax, shoo goo.
knocking it in now, with gloves it feels very nice and I think won't change my batting style a lot but will see what happen's in nets.

I think handle joint will remain as strong as normal bats.
-
That bat is illegal for use under MCC laws, but otherwise a good effort.
-
why?
-
2 reasons on first glance - Too much blade is bound. Too much blade is covered with a grip.
-
If I had made shoulder's more thinner ( about a inch ) so splice merges in for handle completely will that be legal ??, is MMI3 is like that ?
-
Law 6 - Appendix E
"Binding and covering of handle – The permitted continuation beyond the junction of the upper and lower portions of the handle is restricted to a maximum, measured along the length of the handle, of
2.5 in/6.35 cm for the twine binding
2.75 in/6.99 cm for the covering grip."
Basically you can only bind 2.5" of willow. And the grip can only cover 2.75".
There are a few ways round it, but in reality if you're just using it yourself in non professional games you're not going to get pulled up.

Good effort there fella - hope it goes well for you.

thanks mate.
