I tried searching but i could really find my answer so here it goes
Last night I was in my local sports direct, having a browse for a present for a young lad who did well in his year 6 exams, and whilst in their I was
Obviously drawn to the cricket section. So when i arrived there were about 10 bats for
Sale, and I noticed a slazenger v100 xtreme, which when I picked it up, felt brilliant, weighing in at 2.8, so inspected the face, and it had 9
Straightish grains, about 7 of them very straight, so I was pleasantly surprised, I checked that it was English willow and that they hadnt been drawn on and i decided to buy the bat after tapping a ball on it and getting a very good response.
The bat had at rrp of £160 or something and i got it for £20. Bargain.
The bat has been bleached so is extremely white.
So at today's game, i decided to know up with it, and the response was amazing, it really did fly of, i had people saying i will give you £70 for it etc but I'm deffinetely keeping it!
So the question is, why are bats bleached and this bat is supposed to be a grade 4 but performs as good as my grade 1.
Have I just got lucky?
Cheers

Do you have a link stating this bat is Grade 4 as the RRP would suggest it is not ?
-
Well I would presume so as the xtreme is the model below the club which is labelled as grade 3 mate
-
if it is grade 4 then it makes a mockery of rrps and shows that sports direct can almost state any price to begin with and then take 70% or whatever and make people think they're getting a huge bargain!
However, looks a steal at £20!!
-
Looks good un for £20
I hope it goes well for you!
-
Perhaps you should suggest to him knocking it in before he uses it again or it will not last long.
-
I know i used it before knocking in, but i hit about 8 balls with it, just to see how it goes, I've started properly knocking it in now
-
sometimes the low quality bats still perform. It will probably last longer aswell, seeing as the quality of ball that he will use is quite low

When reading the title I was expecting different kind of pictures.... Mind you, these still have wood in.

You are not the only one mate...

Most if not all Slaz bats are priced up in India prior to shipping and just go straight to the shops and onto the shelves. Looks an absolute gem for £20.00

Nice stick hope it goes well for you and Slaz bats in my opinion do look quite nice, just goes to show bargains are still around and anyone know who in India makes the bats for Slaz?

FC Sondhi.
