Remove the silver stripes on the edges of GN titanium bats?

I'm sanding my 2nd team opening partner's GN Phoenix titanium bat and there is the silver card-like stripes along the edges which are a pain un the ass to get rid of. Any tips?

Not sure that'll work. Its very dry and not much glue left.

a sharp blade works to scrape it off. be careful not to loose a finger tho.
