Title: Kingsgrove Sport Catalogue
Post by: langer17 on August 02, 2011, 07:07:36 AM
I received my new Kingsgrove Sports Catalogue today with all the new gear for the Aus 2011/2012 season (I get them from all companies as I like to look :D) and they have alot more gear than I thought, 92 pages of it to be exact. Main reason I posted was that they have the Keiron Pollard bat, as well as some BAS bats that have a new sticker design which is intersting.

Here are some scans of the SS, BAS and Spartan gear (Mitchell Johnson's new sponsor) also those Adidas shoes with the red around them which are very close to a runner design which I love and haven't seen at another store yet, plus other things.

Let me know if you wan't to see anything else.

Same, I will be getting the Gel Advances as the adidas's are only at Kingsgrove which is in NSW and I live in Qld, so unless they are in a Qld shop for me to try on, the Advances are the ones for me.

I really like those new adidas boots, I think I will be purchasing them when they come out in the UK.

I reckon they will be reasonably priced too, about 60 quid with my price comparisons.

Any signs of a new GN Legend range of bats, pads, and gloves?

No change for the Legend range apart from the keeping gloves and maybe the bag. I think it was always hard to justify spending $250 on the pads and $180 on the gloves when you could get something just as good for a lot less, but they have lowered the price of them in the Kingsgrove catalogue probably in an attemptto clear them out. The keeping gloves are new though and look quite nice imo.

Go to www.prodirectcricket.com and order the pads $160NZD landed, and gloves $100NZD landed. The UK stuff is heaps nicer that the Aussie anyway. Cheers

The gear is always different because the Aus and UK Gray Nics are run by different people.

I know it's cheaper over in the UK than it is over here due to them having a much larger market, but postage on pads would be £40-£50 so that's around $65-$75 which works out to be the same. It's only and advantage with gloves if you buy the gloves in bulk. With bats it's good as they work out to be much cheaper, but with softs it's best to grab them from over here as you can try them on and see what they feel like. Seeing as you don't pay VAT, you would more than likely have to pay some extra when they arrive.

I was more saying that they had really good gear for a much better price, so why they thought people would fork out $250 on pads and $180 on gloves is beyond me.

Sorry to take so long to reply. The Legend gloves are about 55 pounds less 20% VAT + 10.95 pounds to send from pro direct to NZ and the pads are 89 or 63 without VAT. Its amazing but the postage is still only 10.95. Have a play around with the pricing and see how much you can get in with postage, it depends on the sizing. Its great value just make sure you buy gear that is "in stock", not " 7 days postage" as you can never get a reply from them. Both UK Legends are better than the Aussie ones.

I went to Greg Chappell Cricket Centre today in Albion (their headquaters) and they had the new legend pads and gloves. They looked really nice, didn't try the gloves, but the pads were super light, comfy and very slim fitting while still offering great protection. I ended up getting th E41 1000 LE's though, which look exactly like the UK Legends and were $40 cheaper and offered the same protection, and only felt a tad bulkier. I will post a review of them as well as my new bag.

Langer would you be able to post pictures of your E41 softs?

I have UK Legend sopfts and trust me they are probably the best softs I have ever worn in my life!
