HI guys, thinking of getting a SCAT in few months and wanted to know hows pressing of them. Is similar to GM/Salix/Laver's etc type ?? will toe need etc care ??
-
Your initial post doesn't make much sense, but i guess you are asking if SCATs need any extra care over other brands. From my experience they are pressed pretty standard, so as long as you knock them in you should be ok.
-
I have seen three scats all of them professionals. Monster bats . No doubt.
-
cant fault the one iv got scored a fair few runs with it and still performs after nearly 2 seasons use
-
ok thanks for input , and how about bow ??
-
That can be judged on the very detailed website, but the series 3 I had had virtually no bow.
-
As far as i know there are no bows in the stock shapes. Dont know about custom made.
My observation of bats initial performance is that Scats do perform from the beginning and start to get better. the same with TK bats. Lavers are different they are pressed in a different way, they arent all that responsive to start with, but improve with use. According to James his bats will overtake most others in time, due to the different pressing technique. But nothing wrong with scats pressing.
Tom (Ayrtek) . . .has yours improved with use.?? if so by how much.
-
Im not sure how you quantify that.....Roco knocked it in and i had it off him then and has been pretty good since 1st use. Cant say iv noted how far i hit the ball and if its got further now with more use of the bat as there are too many factors that effect that apart from the bat.
At the end of the day a good bat will help u score runs but its only an aid not a guarantee to success!

Very rare for a bat to have no bow, its likely they have a minimal bow

why not when cleft's are pressed straight ?, unless pressed again like on "salix" video.
-
my laver isnt bowed
-
Take a side pic of it face down on a flat floor mate, would like to see it
-
100 no had a scat that he said wasnt bowed, not sure if he still has it

That was my one, and I can confirm it.
-
All JM's range of bats dont have bows. . . . . As well as your one JP i had two others. All the same.
You can ask for one though. . . . . custom made for you. . . .he did do a bat with a bow before he updated his site.

-
The edges are on either side of the middle :) ....it's a piece of wood and if it breaks it breaks....which it inevitably will. At which point I'll have to use something else
Pics are from feb so it's had another 6 months use since
-
:) I mean size on edges ?
-
31/32 mm ??
-
now thats a proper bat...
Tom you may have to dip into the wedding fund when it dies ;)
-
The one Iv got in the office will do me fine mate #10 is pretty similar In terms of spec :)
Edges were 30mm I think from memory
-
profile resembles with my Laver version of classic profile with high middle ( edges 33/34 though )
