Been using my cji fatso (2.14) this season when i have been fit, and it does feel good when i have used it, but now I have been given a lighter bat (2.8 at most), had a net with it tonight and it goes like a rocket.
Soooooooooooo, what do i go for?
1, the heavy fatso i have used for most of the season (when fit)
or
2. The new stick i have been given that i have used once, but feels good when using it.
Feedback please.

just pick up what ever feels good on day. i get all my 4 bats out lift them all up play few air shots and use the one i think is best suited

I was thinking along the lines of;
If the quicks are bowling, i would go for one of my lighter bats, and if the spinners and dibbly dobblies are bowling, go for the more heavy one.
-
You could, but then what happens if the dibbly dobblies are bowling and then you go with the heavier and then the quicks come on. You don't want to keep calling for a different bat each time there is a bowling change.
I tend to look at what the track is doing and the quickest bowling they have. If they have someone who is quite nippy I will use my lightest bat - otherwise I will use a normal weight bat for me which is 2.10.
-
Will give you the probable scenario;
They will have 2 half decent quicks, 1 spinner and a couple of dibbly dobblies. The track is normally flat, very true with good bounce. The outfield is quick, so anything past the fielder will be 4.
Lighter bat and just get bat on ball and beat the field, or bigger bat and beat the living daylights out of anything full or short.
But for sure, will have to look at the bowling. I am hoping to face something with pace on as all season i have faced spinners, and they are beginning to somewhat get on my wick, lol.

If I was batting I would go for the lighter bat, but that's because I know against pace I would rather have bat speed over a bigger bat, but that's just my personal preference.
As Simmy said though, go with what feels right and comfortable for the situation on the day.

2lb14 regular soon to add a 2lb10/11 for the county stuff

Two bats to choose from..........if only!!! ;)
-
use the Fatso
and give me the light one ;)
-
in all seriousness, i think youd be better off using the lighter one, as its a road over at Shenfield and im sure you'l be batting for a lont time and woulnt want achey arms from batting all day with a heavy bat
