Title: My new T20
Post by: Perkins17 on August 27, 2011, 10:16:43 PM
After a 2 month wait for the bat from mike it arrived last week the day after I emailed him.
The bat is around 2.13 can not remember exactly
The edges are around 1 1/2 inches
13 Grains, a tinge of heartwood
A few blemishes on the face and a couple on the back
Around 2 inches off the shoulder and had it added to the handle
Some Bark on the outside edge should not affect performance

On arrivle

If you've cut the 'ears' of the blade after taking that photo then yes it will conform. But in that state, once bound and gripped, it doesn't look like it will.

:( was done by Mike im sure it will not matter at the lower forms of cricket
Yes i got the 'ears' down and they are flush with the handle now
How would one get around the problem ?

You won't get pulled up unless you launched it to the mass market. I was only being pedantic as you name checked me, don't worry I'm not gonna be on the blower to the MCC!

FYI and for any other person interested:

Basically you can only have -
A max of 2.5" of the willow in the handle ('The Ears') can be covered by binding. 2.75" covered by the grip.

I used a technique using an extra cutting process, which I won't share. Paired with a large sticker which went round the base of the handle.

And I must say it looks very impressive, Jokeresque.

lol thought the name dropping was needed :P
mass market you say ;)
so it takes a lot of work to conform but will be fine for who ever has it

well that was what I was going for and added the off set edges

You may be okay if you've already cut the ears. But there's no way a league umpire is going to unravel the binding on all players bats to check legality. So either way, you're cool. It's not a performance enhancement thing either, so no need to feel guilty.

The bat looks HUGE  :o, lets hope that the performance is as good as the looks, but i reckon that it will go like a train
