Hi all,
just puchased a CF custom bat off the forums.
I'm currently in the process of knocking it in, but there seems to be a bit of a crack on the edge of the bat (about 1-1.5 inches in length)

Can anyone offer any tips on how to 'fix' it, or is it just a surface crack and something not to worry about?
I'm not too sure on how deep it is, but it does compress a bit when i push on it.
i was thinking about buying a newbery hammer edge sheet..
Many thanks

stick some PVC glue in the crack and clamp it. should close it up. Protect it with a hammer edge sheet and some additional edge tape and it should be fine.

Thanks for that
I don't have a clamp, is there any you would recommend to buy?
Also is there any particular brand of PVC glue you would recommend?
thnks

thanks blazer!

any PvA glue will do. just get an adjustable clamp and put a price of wood ether side so it spreads the face (shouldn't mark the bat then)

haha that's exactly the guide i was following blazer.
great minds think alike..

Did you buy the bat with a crack in?
-
erm im not 100% sure if the bat had the crack in when i purchased it.
it had a thick clear sheet that covered the face and sides, and i only noticed it once i had taken it off, which was an hour into knocking in.
Doesn't affect the performance of the bat i think.

Bat had no cracks when I had it as I applied scuff sheet before I put it for sale on here, it had previously been a natural face whilst I oiled and gave it a light knocking in.

Outlaw i hope i didn't offend you, and i am not accusing you of selling the bat with a crack in.
The bat is beautiful and has a great ping and i'm sure will score me lots of runs :-)

No not at all, was just clarifying as I don't want a reputation as being a bad seller! Glad your happy with the bat.
