Hi all,
So for me the basic batsman's essentials are:
1 x Bat
1 x Gloves
1 x Pads
1 x Helmet (Personal Preference)
1 x Box
1 x Thigh Pad (Again a personal preference thing dependant on your level of ability but I've been hit there enough times to make it essential)
1 x Spikes (Weather dependant)
But what pieces do you carry as surplus? E.g do you carry two pairs of gloves or 2 bats etc?
Would be interested to hear your thoughts!

3 bats for me in case I need to lend one out!
Plus I always have a couple of pairs of inners.
I also carry a pair of spikes plus a pair of lighter rubber studded depending on weather.
Plus I always have a pair of fielding pads - not for batting obviously but handy in the field!
-
Technically right now I own;
Batting gear
3x Bats (1st choice bat, Slazenger V600; 2nd choice, SS Jumbo (my Dad's old bat); retired 1st/backup, Adidas Pellara)
1x Gloves
1x Pads (Soon to be 2 if I get the H4L ones, but will return to 1 when/if I sell the GM)
1x Helmet
2x Box
1x Thigh pad
1x Arm guard (redundant these days as I only wore it as a junior)
General gear
1x Spikes
2x Caps (one from my old club, one from my new club)
Wicket keeping gear
1x Wicket keeping gloves (I used to keep regular, now I'm simply backup)
1x Wicket keeping pads
6x Wicket keeping inners (rough estimate for how I have)
That's it if my memory serves me, which is a worrying statement for a 22 year old :D

What sort of inners do you use?
-
I use the GM fingerless ones as they soak up the moisture but it almost feels as though you're not wearig gloves! I have tried the full inners but definitely prefer the fingerless ones every time!

Do you field in at short leg then pete?
-
Hot Spray and Cold Spray as I never count on others to carry them.
-
Spare gloves and a spare bat are all I have extra really

It varies - I seem to field at cover point, gully and occasionally mid off.
But if the batsman is playing uppish, then I will sometimes field in silly mid-off or short extra cover! And I like my shins the way they are! ;)

A spare bat (on its way out but it's a bit lighter than my match bat, so useful in different situations), and that's it. Maybe some trainers for astro-wickets but never really needed them!
-
All the spare's and extra's I can think of;
-3 bats-My main bat, h4l. My old bat for wet conditions and an extra light bat for when I face a extra quick bowler.
-2 box's
-1 thigh pad inner and outer (never worn the inner)
-Spare spikes, helmet nuts, bat tape, gripping cone, horizon socks, club cap and batting inners (don't wear)
Can't remember any other spare things I have.
-
aside from the usual, i often bring a spare bat. the last time i didn't, my match bat broke in the middle of my innings!
i wear a different hat and box for keeping and batting. i always bring a pair of padded and non padded WK inners too.
i carry bat tape, sun cream, cold spray, contact lens solution, sunglasses (although i never keep in sunnies) etc as well.
other than that i guess i trust all of my kit.

I have an extra pair of batting gloves and inners, plus the usual odds and sods

i carry a spare bat and pair of gloves, few sweatbands ect. and a pair of astro's dependent on weather conditions
