Title: SS Test Opener Pads
Post by: EaglesCC on September 12, 2011, 01:24:37 PM
Just wondering why the Pros seem to go for Test opener as oppose to the more expensive SS pads?

I know price isn’t always an indicator of better quality but in the SS range you have the likes of:

Gladaitor
Platinum Reserve (Seem to be quite rare)
Limited Edition
Matrix
Etc

And Test opener seems to be between LE and Matrix price wise.

Any ideas?

No idea to be honest, I'm after new softs and pads all seem to be merging into one at the moment. I've spent quite a while looking at various pads and most ranges seem remarkably similar - probably as they're made by only a few firms.

These SS pads do all seem really similar to me, I'd be interested to know if there is much difference between them all.

I know that the Gladiator are foam where as Test Opener have cane insert.

As far as I can tell LE are the same as Test Opener, but with different graphics

They look like reversed cane inserts to me JF.

I have Gladiator and they are very good, I'd go for them.

Tried SS Test Opener and Matrix and they weren't as good as Gladiator although they were good though

I agree they all do look very similar or more the fact that the differences are very subtle.

The main ones being foan vs. Cane with some being half and half.

But just wondered why the pros, considering they could pick from any decide to go for test opener over the more expensive ones. Is it a fitment thing?

I prefer the look of the test opener as at the top they're not just round. Difficult to describe but are almost flat at the very top with the edges curving round.
