Anyone watching this? Leics 20-5 chasing 169. No batsman seems to be able to hit it off the sqaure!

He is in the England T20 squad for the matches against West Indies.

Although, CK and JB may fly out if Somerset make it far enough

You will probably find that he is contracted to use GM when playing for Auckland Aces, this is the same as Colin De Grandhomme who purchased kit from us whilst he was in th UK but he is back with the Aces he has to use his GM kit.

yeah 17 off 16 balls shouldnt be too demanding.....needed to use their feet and take it to the bowlers as didnt hit any boundaries in the last 4 overs!

commentators discussing the compton run out/obstructing the field? saying he should be out? maybe im biased but he looks to see where the ball is. doesnt no how far to go before he is in his ground turns and grounds his bat in as if hes close. unfortunately he was a good few yards down the track and the ball hits the outstretched bat. innocent
anybody see it? what do they think? genuine attempt to make his ground or cleverly done.

The throw was going well wide of the stumps, the bowler would not of got the throw either. He did stick his bat out tho.

http://www.espncricinfo.com/champions-league-twenty20-2011/engine/current/match/521341.html

Zommerzet have taken a bit of a Chris Gayle pounding on a very small ground... there will have to be fireworks if they are to win this one now - although Vittori apart there is very little bowling in the RCB team (nannes is massively out of form... and needs to produce)

hummm come on the zummers, I am just about ready for a pint of cider, cloudy, not clear. ;)

Spectacular stuff from Warner, switch hitting regularly prompting the commentator to say that this is getting silly now , we should start to divide the runs between how many he scored as a right and as a left hander.

David Warner looks to have improved so much from when he made his debut. He's a proper talent and wouldn't mind seeing Essex sign him for the T20 next year.

Also did anyone see Warner and Smith's head butt mid pitch. I wonder if that will replace the good old glove punch on a Saturday afternoon?

From what I have seen yes unfortunately.

If you see the way are winning one can say it is all scripted.

The CL's played earlier were won by Indian teams as well.

And yet India aren't even in the top 2 T20 sides in the world.
Proves that spending ridiculous amounts gets you nowhere; just compare the salary of the Somerset team and the Mumbai team.
Title: Re: CLT20
Post by: Colesy on October 08, 2011, 05:56:29 PM
Champions league should be different countries or India will dominate cricket, not just financially, but powerfully moreso than now. The BCCI are a disgrace as they are now, don't want it to get worse.

Completely agree with that. Got to remember that Mumbai had Somerset's overseas player playing for them. More than likely 'cos they pay him more.

I once saw an unofficial ranking of domestic T20 teams from the world and Sailkot Stallions of Pakistan was the first one and yet they are not seen in CL.

India is dominating cricket and ICC is under BCCI's control.

I always say ''What goes up comes down' if India/BCCI is soo high/up just wait few years and see they will be on there knees.

CL and IPL will flop eventually.
Title: Re: CLT20
Post by: Wills on October 08, 2011, 06:32:04 PM
@Cover_Drive, if the Champions League was in a different country then Pakistani sides would take part it in, it's all politics.
I see what you're saying but remember that India are NOT the best side out there, but I do agree that the ICC is a puppet and the BCCI a puppet master.
Title: Re: CLT20
Post by: yvk3103 on October 08, 2011, 06:41:41 PM
CD and Wazza, the problem is not with the ICC or the BCCI. The problem is the politicians of India and Pakistan.

What we hear and see on the news channels and other media on Ind / Pak relations is very far from the truth and how the common man in both these countries feels about their neighbours.

I have been to Pak several times and never felt insecure or scared. I have always been greeted and treated with warmth.

Politics and religion are to blame. The majority of the voters are ill-informed common masses which get exploited by provoking anti-Ind or anti-Pak sentiments.

Most of Somerset's key players will be snapped up by some of these IPL franchises and then next season, if we do make it to the Champion League; it will be difficult, to say the least, to emulate the success we've had this year.
