With most of the 2012 gear now exposed, what can you see yourself purchasing for next season?
I can see myself getting a GM bat out of the 2012 gear, it's been a while since I bought an 'off-the-shelf' bat and I've fancied one for a while. Not sure which model yet, but I would probably go for the Halo or the 1885, depending on how they feel etc...
Also I think I'm going to find some 2011 GM LE gloves in the sale as I much prefer them to their 2012 gloves.
-
I'm due some spikes and like the look of the new asics
-
Nothing much.
Bats:
I have got my GN XXX Series 6 recently and its magnificent. Have a superb Newbery Thruxton SPS which I am undecided about (might sell as the GN will be my main bat).
Pads:
Will be keeping my Salix Pads.
Helmet:
Love my Mausri Ti helmet.
Gloves:
Have a pair of Puma Kinetics which are still in excellent condition and got a pair of GM Original LE gloves from my friend for cheap.
Was tempted by the GM Players, but £500 on a bat is a hell lot of money.
In fact, I might end-up selling some good stuff here or on eBay. (Asics or Nike spikes, Puma Kinetic 500 gloves, Salix bag, Newbery Thurxton SPS and possibly one more bat)
-
For me most likely between 1885 or Halo depending how it feels and Screaming Cat Series One. Am extremely tempted to snap Players but as Yash said five bills!!!!:(
Pads : I'm okay.
Gloves: Maybe just GM Original LE 2012.
Helmet: I'm fine.
Spikes: I'm fine as well.
-
Stick with Ebay yvk3103 as you will be required to pay fees. If you cannot afford £15 to sell openly then no chance will you ever pay £600 for a GM.
-
CD I thought you were after the series 3 Scat? Make your mind up bud lol ;)
I don't plan on buying anymore gear before next season, although it probably will happen
Out of all the new stuff I've seen, the gm gear looks top drawer and I'd prob choose the halo if I hAd to choose a new off the shelf bat
I'm quite happy with my current gear tho
-
It seems that halfway through every season my bat breaks so I'll take a GM Halo/1885.
-
I'll be needing a new bag as well, so I shall see what's available.
-
James don't spam the thread - unless you have something of relevance to say (I.e. Talking about what 2012 kit you might buy) then please leave the thread alone. Who does and doesn't pay sponsors fees is no concern of yours.
-
I'm keen on Canadian Willow for next season in my bag.
-
Superb James - which brand will that be?
-
Torn between H4L, SAF (depending on what their new stuff looks like), Redback and the new Newbery Tour stuff. Mainly between the former and the latter though, as H4L stuff really appeals to me, and the Newbery Tour stuff is lovely and blue!
-
I will need to consult with the gf jf.

Blue is under used!

Sadly, I don't play any more (apart from the odd Presidents XI game at my old club), ... there is so much good kit around these days from many manufacturers that's it's difficult to choose, but I would probably go for the following ... aside from Aswani kit, of course :)
Helmet: Don't wear one, but reactions getting slower ... in the traditional helmets favourite would be Masuri for its compactness, then Albion 98 ... would certainly give Ayrtek a try
Bat: Still have my SS Ultimate (a beautifully balanced bat, fantastic middle) ... and a Newbery Navarone C6+ (run machine, does not sound that good when hitting the ball, but goes like a gun ... feel in the hand has not been quite the same after the handle snapped and was re-handled). Being in the trade, I see so many beautiful looking bats, some of which I feel reluctant to even post out!
Pads: Love Newbery and Salix, though SS Millennium Pro is in the coffin
Gloves: Again, love Newbery and Salix ... beautifully designed yet simple and unassuming ... also like the look of Redback sausage style, though I do prefer split finger for greater flexibility
Thigh Guard: SS Ultralite ... a bit like the Woodworm Pro, very light, snug fit ... but really like the Aero V6 Strippers
Arm Guard: Not sure
Shoes: Asics ... maybe Gel-180 for fielding and bowling, not too heavy, with reasonable protection ... some rubbers with good pimples for batting
Bags: Prefer my old coffin, though it doen't have wheels and really hard on the arms ... keeps everything nice and neat, which I like
Socks: Nothing like a great pair of thick socks ... paid £10 for an all wool pair about 15 years ago ... lasted me ages and were the best, though seemed like a fortune at the time. The nearest I've seen to them now is the 1000 mile

I'm keen on Canadian Willow for next season in my bag.
I am also dependant on the price ;)
-
Haha enter Red man, this topic was made for me. I shall be buying before next season:
Main match bat
2nd bat
Pads
Gloves
Possibly trainers spiked if not then boots
New strippers
New lid
Socks
Exciting times ahead :)

I'm sure most serious cricketers can afford £500 for a bat and £100 for gloves. After all it's not like folk can take money with them.
They will be in my bag.
My trusted pads should see another 10 years out and the BLX is in the post.
-
BLX?
-
The BLX is a new product , Tom Milson knows about it.
-
All I really still need are Blue pads, though i might be tempted to trade in my old maroon masuri for a nice blue and white Ayrtek now I've moved clubs.
-

Wouldn't happen to be a protective product would it James, with a name like that...?
-
A new bat, again probably one of the new GM ones.
Also need some new keeping gloves and batting gloves but thats it I think
-

We brought out the Bulldog BLX a couple of years ago a did a limited edition run of them. We are toying with bringing it out again next year.
-
I've ordered the new GN100 dont really need anything else however i know i'm not going to be able to resist buying something else, ah yes one of the new Ayrteks !!!
-
I need a new medium sized wheelie bag and if possible a small-ish thin-ish thigh pad.
-
Use an armguard :p
-
I'm getting an Instinct Kit deal for 2012. :)
Means I will probably be selling some of the pads I've used this year (all in good condition don't worry!) - once I get a decent camera that is!
Can see myself getting some more Wicketkeeping gloves though..
Nothing else mind, I have more than enough cricket gear and bats etc!!
-
Just an Ayrtek Lid, maybe and bag and maybe some spikes
-
Adidas spikes, and a pair of h4l gloves. Don't really need anything else as I've just ordered my masuri titanium.
-
H4L bat and that will be it unless I spot some decent pads that take my fancy..

My new grip which has just been applied.
Expensive but feels great in the hands.
-
humm nice hockey stick grip - perfect for this time of year!
I tried a hockey grip on my bat but it wasn't that comfortable and the feel wasn't great either.
Disappointed that you are not using a Lekka bat there James ;)
Not sure they are that expensive - certaily cheaper than one of your new combi grips? :o
-
Paddy's refer to these grips as Hurling Grips.
It is a Lekka bat , maybe the V900 decals threw you off guard.
These will retail for a clear tenner , bargain considering one will not need to use any gloves :)
-
not even a little top hand protector to stop the astro burn?
£10... you have been ripped off?
All these are under a £5er http://www.kickbacksports.co.uk/Products/Search.aspx?Phrase=grip&Category=Hockey&Brand=&Price=A
-
£10... you've been ripped off!
A tenner is nought on a £500 priced bat :)
-
In percentage terms you have a point - £10 is only 2% of £500, but £4 is 2.67% of £150... :o
-
I need a new medium sized wheelie bag and if possible a small-ish thin-ish thigh pad.
I bought one of these d7bow - http://www.sportsdirect.com/slazenger-county-v95-holdall-859116 - All you'll need for under a tenner. It's a solid looking bag too.
-
I chuck in the £10 grip with a £500 bat :) (fitted of course)
% it all you may but find me an 80" length high grade quality grip for less than a ten spot and we can talk turkey. lol
Personally I rate the grips , maybe £10 is to cheap.

Bargain. I should of stated I want it to stand up as well. I did buy the duffle for £4 for nets.
-
Looking at:
Ayrtek premier lid, green.
Newbery SPS1 Gloves or H4L LE gloves (or both if I loose my control :D)
Newbery keeping pads, SPS or Tour depending on fit feel etc.
Newbery Tour keeping gloves or the M&H Suede ones (again im torn, dont need both.....)
A couple of pairs of keeping inner gloves.
-
All I really still need are Blue pads, though i might be tempted to trade in my old maroon masuri for a nice blue and white Ayrtek now I've moved clubs.
There was some blue pads on the forum the other day... Kooka about £20

James very surprised your rocking out a sports direct special ;)
-
The stickers are fake so I will not have any issues with my buddy Ashley :) (still shows the new tenner grip and still a refurbed Lekka bat)
-
I'm still after pads and gloves, been looking for a good deal for a bit and all softs are looking very similar at the moment so I'm sure I'll just end up buying some soon.
Currently comparing Salix pod one pads/pod black gloves and the iridium 5000 softs so might get one of those.
Might also get one of the new ayrtek cheaper lids to replace my cheap slaz helmet.
Also need new whites as my slaz trousers seem to generate friction burns when they look at a peice of grass.
-
I still have a voucher code for north gear whites
