Title: Possible to have decent bat, pad and gloves for under £200
Post by: FattusCattus on October 08, 2011, 08:10:54 PM
Just planning my kit out for next season (now that I am a proper batsman!), and having picked up battered but decent kit halfway thru last season for £60 total to see me thru the year, I wondered what budget a lowly club cricketer would put on his stuff.

I'm planning to pick up an SS Ton Heritage or Matrix, plus Vulcan cricket Lava softs.

Total purchases should be less than £180, and I aimto hand-pick the SS from whichever retailer I go to.

I haven't tried the Vilcan stuff on, but the pics look good, and the SS I used last season was superb.

I'm just not sure I can spend £250 on a bat and £100 on softs.

Yes. In the sales, you can grab some top grade big brand stuff. Alternatively kit deals or shopping round the smaller boys you'll find something.

In answer to the title - yes!

You should be able to get SS matrix bat, pads and gloves for less than £200.

And if your not too hung up on grade 1 willow, I think hunts grade 2 range is very competitively priced, as are their softs

I reckon lekka would be close to that price range too.

Lukey sports also do their own brand kit bundle for £200
