Title: Video of point of impact
Post by: yvk3103 on February 09, 2009, 06:55:50 PM
Hi,

I am looking for some videos of how the bat/willow responds to (in terms of dynamics) at the point of contact with the ball. Basically how the impact is distributed.

Norb...... can you help?

seen a few clips on the tv at some point, it really is amazing seeing the point of impact, the bat bends like a plant in the wind.

Yash I don't have any but I know someone who is getting hold of some. In the short term I won't be able to get hold of anything though....

post here or pm me a question if you'd like me to take a look at something for you....

Well it is just out of interest. My father in-law is here from India and I was trying to explain him about bat making, the change in technology, how the willow responds etc.... these type of things really do not interest many Indian who just want a good bat and start hitting a six from the first ball.

Not a bad way of looking at it!

Agree.

Every youngster wants bat like Sachin (at his peak), Sehwag, MS or Yuvraj. Not much difference though from kids here in the UK and elsewhere. The other day I say a 9 or 10 yr old repeatedly trying to use the bat left-handed like KP!!
